*RENEGADE POV*

As I walked down to the mess hall with Zofia, I did get a better look around the base. I guess the letter really wasn't lying that this place was state of the art. As I walked into the mess hall, I found a bunch of food.

*THIRD PERSON POV*

Renegade comically turned into a little chibi version and started floating around.

"Look! That guy's got steak! And the other's got mac and cheese! *massive gasp* AND THAT GIRL'S GOT BREAD!"

He was about to float off of Zofia pulled him back into reality and sternly (but lightheartedly) reminded him that it was only morning. Not even listening to Zofia's advice, Renegade sprinted off and made an espresso filling up a massive cup and filled it with sugar and cream. He zoomed back taking a sip.

"You needed something?"

Zofia nodded and motioned for him to sit at a table with Frost, Hibana, Dokkaebi, Alibi, IQ, Twitch, Thatcher, Bandit, Jäger, and Caveira.

"Uh, hi?"

A couple of the operators remembered him as one of the new MARSOC operators. As Thunder got his food, Renegade motioned for him to sit at the table he was at. Thunder shook his head. Renegade, being the person he was, got up and sat with his old friend. The others curiously followed.

"Hey, brother, what's up?"

Thunder: Eh, not much. To Queen and country, right mate?

"*in somewhat decent British accent* Yeah, mate, we're gonna have shit ton of tea, yeah?"

That brought a chuckle from a couple of operators as Thatcher walked over, but then Thunder gave him a cold glare.

"Ah, Mister Thatcher, would you mind taking off that gas mask?"

He took off the gas mask showing me an older Baker. Wait. I looked at Baker. Then at Thatcher. Then back to Baker. I finally put two and two together and figured out why Baker glared at him.

".....You two are related, aren't you?"

With a nod, I just accepted that somehow, somewhere, a god just decided to fuck with Baker and make sure his relative was here. I finished up my breakfast and went to the range.

POWPOWPOW! POWPOWPOW! POWPOWPOW PING!

"Swapping mags."

I switched to my AP rounds and that poor target never stood a chance. It's not like I got a chance to completely use the magazine, cause I got called with Thunder for a mission. As I entered, I saw the operators Ash, IQ, and the Japanese chick whose name was Hibana. Thunder was on the balanced out side of operators (2 speed, 2 armor) but compared to them, I'm a fucking tank (1 speed, 3 armor).

Harry: So, you might be wondering what mission is in store for you today considering that one of you is a tank, the other's an assault specialist, and the other three are the speedy operators. It's simple. The White Masks have taken over a family home in Tysons, Virginia. I know all of you have experience with the White Masks, especially you, Renegade. I expect nothing less than the best.

I was mad, no, beyond that. First I find that the people responsible for Ace's death are there, and that they take a family hostage in my hometown? I refuse to let them succeed. As I strapped on my vest and put in some extra magazines, Thunder tossed me my helmet. Without missing a beat, I smoothly put it on and strapped it into place. We were the last ones to arrive. Not surprised, but then Harry sent us an announcement through everyone's comms.

Harry: I forgot to mention you'll be working with two prospects. Rachel Auditore, AKA Assassin and Hana Song, AKA *visibly confused with a pause* D.Va?

"Sir, like the gamer? That streams live almost every fucking day?"

I got an "affirmative" from him. They expect us to work with a descendant of the notorious Ezio Auditore which is cool, but a gamer? What do they think we are, fucking My Little Ponies? Once we got there, we saw Assassin (who looked a year younger than me) and D.Va, who was in a suit with sponsors. The fuck? I cleared my throat.

"Renegade, part of Rainbow. If you make it in, be aware it ain't all rainbows and unicorns and marshmallows."

We walked over to the police chief

Chief: Whoa, Johnson, check it out! We got a real Mandalorian on us today!

"Cut the shit. What's the situation?"

Chief: Well, we've negotiated. They gave up one hostage for a TV broadcast and they'll give one more of we release one of their high ranking members.

"You dumbass! Giving into their demands increases recruitment and makes us look like pansies! GEAR UP! WE'RE MOVING IN!"

As we were about to enter, Thunder took out his axe and chuckled. I understood why, but I don't think anyone else did. As he chopped the door open, a single terrorist peeked out in confusion. His head was caught in the violent swing and he died. The house wasn't large and the hostages weren't on this floor.

"FNGs, on me. We're moving to the basement. Thunder, you take the rest and clear out upstairs."

Everyone nodded. As I opened the door to the basement, I was immediately greeted with bullets. Assassin was off at who knows where and D.Va was spraying and praying. Right as I almost got shot, a terrorist dropped, blood spurting from his neck. Assassin. She must be able to turn invisible.

"There's one last door. I'll clear it, you cover me."

As I walked up to the door with a pistol in hand, the door opened before I could and a fucking massive White Mask swung at me with a knife. I barely dodged and drew my knife, swinging at him. But I was a little rusty. It was forever since our last CQC tournament and I missed, giving him the opportunity to slash my leg. I was slowed, but I wasn't out ye-fucker just stabbed me! Damn. I'm done, this guy was just fucking toying with me. I sloppily slashed back, but he dodged and sliced at me, the knife going across my face. I fell to my knees, unable to take any more. Not like he cared, he put my head in his hands and carved his knife across my throat. My blood was everywhere when the rest arrived and killed him. Thunder rushed to my side, tears in his eyes.

Thunder: Mate, don't die on me, all right? I'm not losing another one.

I didn't hear a word. I was in too much pain, so I rasped out one word through the blood.

"Mor....Morphine."

He gave me a dose and it barely worked. I could still feel the pain, but it wasn't so bad as before. I could rest now.
