Mystery story

Chapter 3 :

Stepping out of the vehicle, the air was stale and bitter. Looking behind me I spot the undercover officers staying close by. Lewis mentioned for them to surround the perimeter and get ready for "Pizzazz" as he would call it.

"EPD is surrounding the perimeter of your house" Lewis shouted over a megaphone."Everybody gets out slow and steady or you will get hurt!" Taking a deeper breathe he continued. "I repeat! You will get hurt."

The big oak doors of the mansion open slowly to show a woman around her late thirties with her hands up in the air.

" We surrender! Just promise none of us gets hurt!" she shouts as she stood still.

"We promise, just cooperate with us !" I shout back, hopeful that nobody gets hurt too.

Once the Cicadas gang members were all lined up in front of the police vehicles in their cuffs.

The leader spoke up.

"Maxine," she called out to me, her dark hair disheveled as she had probably run her fingers through them due to her anxiousness.

"You have to be careful," she whispered, fear evident in her emerald-colored eyes. She turned her head towards the tree line only for both of us to see a shadowed figure.

"Lewis!" I called out to him before sprinting off into the direction of the shadowed figure.

Despite my unfit condition, I had still managed to catch up to the figure. Lunging at him, We both landed with a thud.

"Matthew?!"I screeched, both in shock and disappointment.

"Maxine!" Lewis shouted for me as he bent over to try and catch his breath.

"You okay ?" he sighed, grabbing his handcuffs to put on Matthew's wrists.

"I'm good."I sighed, standing upwards and taking a big deep breath of the forest scent.

After two officers had picked up Matthew, he let out a string of colorful words. "This isn't over Maxine." Matthew spat as he was pushed into the police car.

Once all the police cars containing the drug dealers and the snake, we finally enter the mansion. Taking samples of all the drugs and sending it into the lab for testing.

After a week or so, the DEA's have finally found a cure and are helping those who are suffering from Substance X recover. We still yet have to find the person producing it as Quinn, the gang leader - also doesn't know who they are. Soon after Matthew was put on trial and found guilty, he was sent off to a high-security prison while Quinn and the cicadas are out helping people get over their addictions and helping them pay for their rehab center expenses.
