Fast forward: Today (August 19, 2019) in Houston, Texas...
"So we still going to the mall today or what?" My best friend Nevaeh asked me. We've been best friends since we were 3. Even our moms are best friends. We both moved here two years ago together.
"Yes bitch. We got school tomorrow and I need to find some accessories for my outfits. Ima be on my way to you house in 5." I said hanging up and getting out of bed. I wasn't ready but we were just going to the mall, I didn't need to look all that but I still wanted to look cute. I went into my closet and put together this simple outfit and got my brother to take pictures of me.

After I lotioned down and everything else. I walked out the house and made my way to Nevaeh's house. I knew she would be taking forever to get ready so I didn't even rush her.
Once I pulled up to her house, I got out the car and walked up the pathway. To my surprise, Nevaeh was walking out of the house fully dressed. When she turned around, I had a surprised look on my face. She rolled her eyes at me and walked to me.
"Sine when do you be on time?" I asked her getting in the car.
First of all, I wasn't on time. I just got done getting ready and we were originally supposed to go to the mall at 3:00. It is now 4:15. YOU'RE the one that's late." Nene said to me rolling her neck. I then rolled my eyes at her and pulled out the driveway.
20 minutes later, we pulled up to the mall. It was packed but not packed to where the lines would be long. I was happy for this because I did not want to be in lines all day.
We literally went to almost every store the mall had. We had so many bags in our hand that we had to keep going in and out the mall to put bags in the car.
It was now going on 8:00 and we just got done shopping. Once we were done putting the bags in the car, we decided to go to the food court and eat because we were now starving.
The food court wasn't packed since it was getting late. Nene ate Chick-Fil-A while I went to go get Panda Express. It was a lot of people that wanted Panda Express today. As I got closer to the front, I noticed a familiar scar on the back of a boy's head in front me. My mind instantly went back to that night two years ago on the bus with the boy.
When he turned his head, I immediately knew it was him. He looked better and healthier though. He had grills in and a chain on. He looked much better than he did two years ago. He seemed to remember me too because he just stared at me.
"Come on Yung, i'm tryna eat." One of his friends said as he rubbed his stomach. The boy stopped staring at me and smacked his friend upside his head and they ordered and received their food then walked off. As I did a long time ago, I didn't take my eyes off of him until he was out of sight.
"Ma'am!" The lady at the register said now yelling for me. I snapped out of my thoughts and looked at her.
"Oh i'm so sorry. Okay I would like a plate, chow mien, and double orange chicken please." She wrote everything down on the top of the plate and gave it to the next person to make it. As I got to the end, they gave me my cup and I paid for my food. I then found where Nene was sitting at and sat with her.
"Sooo what's going on with you and Trey?" She asked me and I rolled my eyes at her.
"Girl he made me mad last night." I said thinking about what happened.
"Uh uh what he do?" she asked me already ready to cuss him out.
"We on the phone and he goes to talking bout a girl he used to date right. And i'm a cool girl so I wasn't tripping off the first time he mentioned her. But then he kept on talking bout her so I was like why you keep talking bout her for? You still want her or something? He gets mad that I snapped on him and he hung up in my face after calling me a bitch." I said to her getting angry all over again. She looked at me with wide eyes and instantly pulled her phone out. I knew what she was doing.
"No nene don't call him. It's okay." I said but it was too late. I could hear the FaceTime call ringing. It ended as soon as it was started. That pissed her off even more. She hated when people hung up on her.
"I'ma try again." She said trying not to get too mad. She called him again and it said connecting.
"What Nevaeh?" He said with an attitude.
"Don't come on this phone being rude. Why you and my bestie not talking?" She said getting straight to the point.
"Because she got a attitude with me on the phone so I hung up on her." He said telling half the story. I rolled my eyes and begun eating as they talked.
"But why would you hang up and call her a bitch? That's disrespectful on so many levels." She said trying to make him understand. But as usual, he thought he was right in every situation.
"Okay well you better apologize to her by tonight or me and you gone have problems tomorrow when I see you." And with that she hung up the phone. I rolled my eyes again thinking of how ignorant he is.
"Girl let's go, you halfway done with yo food anyways." She said pissed and ready to go. I put my fork back in the container and grabbed my food and followed behind Nene. As we walked off, I seen the boy again in the front of the mall.
We were getting closer to him and two other boys. As we approached them, the boy turned around and looked at me straight in my eyes. One of the other boys seemed to notice me and he kind of looked sorry for me. Why? I don't know.
We passed them and walked out the mall. I looked back and the boy was still looking at me as I walked off. He continued looking at me until we were no longer in each others sight.
