I was drawing and singing along to the song when I heard the bell ring. I put my spiral back into my backpack and looked over to see the boy sleep. Everybody was already gone so I woke him up.
"Hey." I said tapping his shoulder. He kind of jumped a little bit but he looked up at me and lifted his head.
"Umm the bell rung." I said looking down.
"Thank you for waking me up." He said in a regular accent. He looked down to get his backpack and I seen the scar again. It was weird because I have the same scar on my neck that i've had since I was little. I don't know why I felt like i've seen him before. Maybe i'm tripping.
"No problem." I said getting up and walking out the classroom. For some reason, I felt something weird with him. I took my charm out of my purse and played with it. It calmed me down.
I walked to second period and noticed I had it with both of my besties, Nene as you already know and my other bestie that i've been knowing since 5th grade, LaKaiya or Jade. She prefers Jade.
"Wassup sexy." Jade said licking her lips at me. She act so gay I swear lol, but I love her.
"Hey beautiful." I said back blowing her a kiss. She pretended like she was fainting and I giggled at her. We sat down and continued to talk.
A couple minutes later after the bell rung, the boy entered the room. He gave a nurses pass to the teacher and I could see the scar on the back of his neck was now red. I could tell it was irritating him because it happens to me.
He came and sat in the desk right behind me and laid his head down groaning. His scar was getting worse by the minute. I dug in my backpack and got this cream out that my mom put together for me a while ago when she found out about the scar.
"Here. This should make the pain go away." I said to him. He looked up at me with low eyes and then looked at the cream. He then took it out my hand.
"Can you help me?" He said in a regular accent again. Maybe it wasn't the same boy from a couple years ago but he sure did need help. I nodded my head at him and took the cream out of his hand.
I walked to the back of him and lifted his shirt. His scar went down his spine and stopped right before his waist. I rubbed my fingers over the red scar. He flinched when I got closer to the middle of his back. He'll have to keep his shirt off for a minute.
"Mr. Rogers can we go to the nurses office? He isn't feeling too well." I said across the classroom. He walked to the back and seen how exhausted the boy looked.
"Yes, just make sure you be back in the next 30 minutes."
"That's no problem, thank you." I said grabbing the boys hand and leading him out the classroom. He stopped and bent over and I knew the pain was getting worse. I put his arm around mine and led him to nurse.
I laid him down on his back after taking his shirt off. His scar was now turning a light purple. I took the cream out the container and put it on his scar. He flinched at the cold cream but soon relaxed. The cream made the scar cold and then once the scar tissue relaxed, it got hotter. It basically worked like Icy Hot but for scars.
After about 20 minutes, he started to shift around. He looked up at me and then sat up. He looked at me again for a longer period of time. Making me self conscious, I looked down and tucked away a piece of hair in my face.
"Thank you." He said. I looked at him.
"You're welcome."
"How did you know that would work?" He said interested.
"Well my mom is very good at making stuff and she used common sense to figure out a cream to help me with my scar." I said showing him mine that only stopped mid back. He look at me intensely. I pulled my shirt back up becoming self conscious.
"How did you get your scar?"
"I've been having it since I was little. I don't remember how I got it, I just remember having it." I said now looking him dead in his eyes.
"That's weird because that's exactly how I remember mines." He said looking at me weirdly. I returned the look. Weird.
"Well we better get back to class. Mr. Rogers said to make sure we don't take longer than 30 minutes." He nodded and stood up stretching. I took the time out to notice how tall he was. He was about 6'1 compared to my 5'4 frame. I looked up at him and he looked down at me and told me to lead the way. I walked out the nurses office first and we walked back to class.
Once we entered the class, everyone was still occupied except my friends who were now watching me with smirks on their faces. Ugh I already see what's coming. We walked to the back and he sat in the seat beside me this time.
"You're not gonna introduce us?" Jade said smirking at me. I faced palmed my self mentally.
"Jade, nene, this is ..... what's your name?"
"I prefer people to call me Yung." He said looking down. I nodded and proceeded.
"This is Yung. Yung, meet my best friends Jade and Nene."
"Real names?" He asked. I shook my head no.
"Jade is her middle name but she prefers Jade. Her real name is LaKaiya. Nene is short for Nevaeh." I said and he nodded his head.
"How y'all meet?" Nene asked. I didn't know whether to say if i remembered him from a while ago just in case he didn't remember, or to say we just met.
"Ummm... we just met.... earlier." He said looking a little confused on what to say. I looked at him and he looked back at me.
"ohhh okay." Jade said not believing us. I didn't know if I believed it either.
"Well we supposed to be hanging later at Turkey Leg Hut later. It's our first year going." Nene said trying to get him to go.
"That's crazy cause me and my homeboys have been going there every first day since we moved here." He said.
"Oouuu... your homeboys cute?" Jade said tryna be fast. He chuckled at her.
"I mean they igh." He said tryna scrunch his face. He looked funny so I laughed.
"You mind if we join y'all? We might as well go together since we all already planned to go." Nene suggested.
"Yeah we can all go. We gone head that was about a hour after school end cause they lines be long. So i'll text you around 5:30 to tell you we finna leave?" He said. Little did I know he was talking to me.
"Helloooo earth to Caleigh." Nene said. I looked up and he was looking down at me.
"Oh yeah you can text me." And with that he pulled out his phone. I put my number in his phone and he text me to make sure it was right. I then saved his number.
"Alright well ima text you Cal and let you know about 15 minutes before we leave so y'all can do y'all final touches." We nodded and continued to talk about random stuff.
