"Coco! Focus!" Draul yelled, her son on his hip and chewing on a piece of the old draconian's armor. "Your sword skills are excellent in human terms, but your going up against experienced flyers, not all of them will be in their lesser form!" Fawn groaned as she landed, she was sweating profusely and out of breath from the flying exercises Draul was pouring her through. She had been training since early morning with Coco, no sign of Alduin or any of the other humans who still refused to come out out of fear.
The young girl per her request now had a set of pretty gold feathered synthetic wings that spasmed every so often from newness, the look of discomfort on her face not at all reassuring. She was a bit freaked out by having new muscles to acquaint herself with but thankfully she was quickly getting used to them with the help Fawn gave her. Durnehvir was slinking somewhere around the sparring hall watching them in his greater form, the insufferable draconian was obsessed with Coco.
The heavy sword that Draul had tried to get her to wield was simply too difficult for her to use, but seemed a breeze for Coco, who true to her word really was a Renaissance fan. Draul was a real pain when it came to training, then again he was much older and had way more war experience than either of them combined. Coco lifted her sword tiredly and wiped the sweat from her brow while Fawn took a breather from her flight.
"Come on Fawn! There are no breaks on the battle field!" Draul yelled, groaning she opened her wings and beat them hard to lift herself into the air, raising the sword she came at Coco who met her with the practice blade. The Golden haired girl slid the blade up and used the hilt to catch her own and twisted, throwing the sword away from her with ease that frustrated her more than anything.
She gasped in alarm when it clattered to the floor narrowing her gaze at coco in that split second, she flared her wings and knocked into the girls side in a bout of unexpected anger. She let out a yelp and stumbled, her twitchy wings opening in surprise while she stopped and looked to Draul expectantly.
"Keep fighting." He barked, widening her eyes in surprise she gave an angry growl and opened her wings again, taking to the air she swiped her sword off the ground. Gliding around Coco she picked up her speed as best she could, still learning how to tilt her wings just the right way so it was possible. She lifted high which was one of the difficult thing's about flying, just going straight up was a pain and took most of her strength to do. Folding her wings as She leaned forward she dive bombed Coco and struck out with the sword.
Coco cried out and stumbled back from the impact, falling on her ass but still holding the sword in a defensive position.
"Good job Coco! Never drop your defense. That's enough." She sighed in relief and slowly lowered herself to the ground to land. She had definitely gotten the hang of flying, but doing it for extended periods of time along with lugging a heavy object was her absolute limit. She flopped onto the mat and panted, letting her wings fall limply as she stretched her aching back muscles.
Coco got up, her wings flaring open for a second before folding again. She didn't remember when she got her own wings, but she imagined they were just as twitchy as the girls were now. Draul looked the golden haired girl over for a second before handing her son off to her, Coco awkwardly took him but smiled when he screeched happily at her. Draul approached her, holding out his hand to her, which she took gratefully and whimpered as she got to her feet with his help.
"We are far from done my lady. We are going to work on your weaponry skills later." She made a frustrated sound in the back of her throat and he arched a brow at her. "You were the one who asked for this. You are sorely lacking in flight experience." He pointed to the various landing pads and fans placed around the sparring arena.
"We are going to work on that now. If you can get to that landing pad right there." He lifted his finger in the direction of the top most pad. "I will let you be done for the day." Fawn perked up at that and grinned, she was definitely up for that, it was meant to help her get better at flying but she desperately needed a break from the thyroid training he was putting her through.
