Hello my lovelies!!! Sorry it took me so long! Everything has been crazy since the quarantine so I've had little time to do writing! But as promised I haven't stopped and I know it's a bit late, so here is the next chapter!!
Remember! Six feet apart and wash your hands!! Stay safe everyone!!!
Fawn waited eagerly by the medical bay door, days had passed and the medicine for her precious daughter had finally arrived, now the doctors, or healers as they preferred to be called, were applying it. She could hear the high pitched wailing on the other side of the door and it drove her mother's instinct insane, she hadn't been able to retract her claws or her fangs since it started.
"Calm down soulsha, she will be fine." Alduin placed his hands on her shoulders and turned her to face him, a gentle smile gracing his lips. Why did he have to be so handsome like that? Why did he have to be so gentle? It chipped away at the barrier she had tried to put up between them. The ring around her finger was a constant reminder that she was giving him a chance to make things right and she was torn between wanting to keep him at a distance or letting her guard down.
And so far he was doing a bang up job of wooing her.
"But she's crying!" She wrung her hands together and he chuckled, taking hold of them so she would be still, he laced their fingers together in a show of comfort, or affection whether she believed him to be trying to get closer or not.
"That is because they are applying it to her eyes. Would you not cry if someone was digging around in yours?"
"Digging around!?" She squeaked, her anxiety ramping up a notch. He gave her an uncomfortable look and pulled her towards the floor to ceiling glassless windows lining the hallway, a few flight patrols gliding past in their massive draconic forms.
"Why don't we come over here and sit." He suggested, but she turned her head to look at the doors, fear for her daughter frying her nerves, everything in her body telling her to brake the doors down somehow to rescue her baby.
"But shouldn't one of us be in there?" She asked, slightly resisting as he pushed her to sit on the ledge, her light pink wing feathers ruffled in agitation when he chuckled, glaring daggers at him.
"They will have to decontaminate the entire room after to prevent anything from escaping or getting back into her eyes. It is too risky." He sat beside her and extended his wing to put around her, only stopping when she gave him another look.
Jinx chattered quietly on her shoulder while rubbing his cheek on hers in an attempt to help calm her, eyeing Alduin wearily she let out a long sigh. What had he done to her to make her so... Feral? Why did she have these fangs and claws, even her horns. All she could think about was her child in there, Draul taking care of her son while they were both away to wait for her daughters recovery.
Her wing muscles were sore from all the intense training the elder was putting her through, not to mention Coco as well. Poor girl had a draconian shadowing her all the time, it was as if he was obsessed with her which under normal circumstances she would be a bit frightened. She worried for her friends Simon and Lily whom she hadn't even seen in who knew how long, lost out in the awful alien infested world. She missed them terribly.
"Alduin... What went wrong between us? What did the human race do to deserve this?" She asked, turning her gaze to his red one, his face softening in understanding.
"We contacted your human world leaders, telling them of our existence." He started, looking out over the large expanse of his city. "They sought to destroy us after we offered them an ultimatum. Peace, or subservience." She nodded solemnly, that sure sounded like human kind, scared and cowardly.
