Ivy woke up in her bed, groggy. She didn't get much sleep, stressing over seeing Carmen and Zack together. She couldn't even imagine the two as a couple.

A knock on the door interrupted her thoughts. "Who is it?" She called to the closed door, although Ivy had a strong guess of who was there.

"Ivy, it's me." Carmen's voice was a clear note to Ivy, even through the solid wood blocking the two.

Her heart raced before she responded. "Come in!"

Ivy's heart was pounding in her chest as the doorknob was jiggled and Carmen appeared on the other side, walking in.

"What's up, Carm?" Ivy asked. She was given a confused glance. "C'mon. You don't just walk into my room for fun." Ivy twinged with pain as she spoke. She knew what she said was true, but she wished so hard that Carmen would say something like "I came in here to see you." in a cute way or something like that.

Carmen sighed, then chuckled. "Good eye." Ivy's fear faded as Carmen complimented her. "I'm just worried. What if we fail to get all the Vermeer's? What if Zack blows his cover? What if..."

"Carmen, stop worrying about everything." Ivy comforted. "The caper will go smoothly and my bro won't mess up his job." She smiled at the older thief, giving off comforting body language.

Carmen grinned at Ivy. "Thanks, Ivy. I needed that."

Ivy felt a familiar blush spread through her face as Carmen left the room, leaving Ivy to change for the day.

When Ivy walked out of her room, she saw something she would never forget, something that would haunt her dreams with the thief forever.

Carmen gently kissing Zack on the forehead.

Ivy rushed back to her room, tears slowly falling down her face. She knew it was just to the forehead, to wake him up, but Ivy couldn't bear it.

Carmen must have heard her crying, because she knocked yet again on Ivy's door. "Ivy, are you in there?"

Ivy sniffled, trying to cover up her sobs. "Yeah, Carm."

The door opened and in came Carmen. "Are you alright? You seem upset."

She tried to cover her tears. "Yeah, I'm alright. At least I think so." She muttered the last part under her breath. Ivy didn't want Carmen to see her, not like this, all teary-eyed and upset.

Carmen showed a shocked expression on her face, most likely at Ivy's emotions. "You're a hundred percent sure?"

Ivy nodded and faked a smile. "Relax Carmen. I'll be fine. Now you should probably go back to my brother and teach him more about being fancy. We've only got a short amount of time left."

"Alright, if you're really sure that you're fine..." Carmen said, before walking out of Ivy's room and over to Zack.

Ivy sat on her bed for a bit, clearing her head. She knew that Carmen didn't like her back, at least not in the way Ivy did. Ivy knew she would never get Carm to like her.

She sighed, before giving up hope and wiping away the last of her tears, finally having the courage to walk out of her room and face Carmen and her brother.

Author's note

Sorry this was shorter than the other chapters. I originally wrote this chapter in a notebook, but for a while, I couldn't find it. When I did, I realized I have really messy hand writing, so it was hard to read my own writing.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this chapter! Be on the lookout for Chapter 4!
