"Am I late to the party?"
When the lady appeared from the shadows and stood in the middle of the room, she only looked at all of them and smiled wickedly as she leaned on a tall umbrella beside her. Her eyes gleaming purple. The woman then looked at Donovan and smiled more broadly, "Your majesty.." Her sultry voice said as she mockingly bowed to the wide-eyed king. But as she stood upright after bowing, she then eyed the whole area and looked up and snarled, "I thought he said that the other king would also be here..."
"And who are you supposed to be?" Callipso asked as she raised her eyebrow unseen from her hair, readily holding onto twin daggers. She had sensed dark magic come through inside the walls, and not the unusual darkness that she had sensed from the time she visited Virdonia. It was different. It felt spiked with power and menace. Demonic.
"My name's Corona and I wanted an audience from the two kings here..but I guess one wouldn't be so bad.." She shrugged her shoulders and pointed the umbrella at Donovan, who nervously laughed as he tightly gripped to his weapon.
Lady Ladine gave a her a dagger-like glare as she crossed her arms, "And why did you have to sneak past the royal guards to get here? You know you could have just normally waited in line like the rest of the citizens, but no. No you didn't, you doll-like freak." In which fazed the umbrella-wielding lady who then looked at Ladine and scowled
"Well at least I'm not a woman who's work just consists of looking at assholes and different internal organs like a slutty and cannibalistic expert." Corona retorted as Ladine started making mist rise from the ground to try and tie down the intruding woman.
Ladine then shockingly smirked, seeming to not be fazed by the retort, and answered with, "Actually, I examine a plenty of assholes every week, so I think that qualifies me as an actual expert. And looking at you right now, you qualify as a real asshole as well." While eyeing the woman carefully.
The others in the room silently laughed as the conversation between the two women ended when Corona started to release a frustrated growl from her lips.
"I just hope when I kill all of you, all of you will first be thrown off a plane with all of your limbs cut off and to a ditch where lions will eat your flesh and bones then hell fire will come out of the ground and devour all of your remains, making it certain that none of you will not be going to Valniren." She said as the symbols on her cheeks started to glow and so does the tip of her umbrella.
As it glowed brighter and brighter, Corona pointed the umbrella towards Donovan, who stood in a defensive stance while looking at her with determined amber eyes. Then her weapon fired at Donovan, shooting out a bright blue jet of light towards him.
Donovan closed his eyes, waiting for the blast to hit him, but it never did. And as he opened his eyes, he heard a terrified shriek from Callipso as he saw a body at the front of his feet, lying there dead. The king slowly processed who it is and his heart dropped, his breathing hitched as he looked at one of the only people in the whole entire kingdom to show him kindness and not act cold.
He rolled the body and made it so the face can show, and that expression horrified Donovan. It was Marshall, looking at him with a smile on his face while blood trickled from it. Marshall looked at Donovan and said, "Can I hold your hands?" In which Donovan nodded, knelt beside him and intertwined his hands with Marshall's.
Marshall looked at him with his striking blue eyes and only said, "Always be happy with what you have and enjoy your time as if it is your last. I'll miss you, Donovan; and you'll probably miss me too.." Before dying from the blood loss that came from his bleeding and sliced internal organs.
