I walked down the hallway that led to my room, the lights were dim as it was 11:00 pm. I finally reached my door and slipped into the comfort of my dorm. Luckily, my roommate Ivy was gone for the week. She went home often to be with her family and I always got excited to have the room to myself. I set all my stuff down and let my black hair out of it's too tight ponytail. After changing into something more comfortable I hopped onto my bed to relax for the night.

It was Friday night and I was exhausted from work and school so watching a movie in bed sounded just perfect. I texted my best friend Veronica from back home, to tell her about a crazy encounter I had with a costumer today and then plugged my phone in to charge for the night, happy that I did not have to set my alarm. I only got about half way through the movie before turning it off. Partly because I was exhausted and partly because it was way more boring than I had expected.
I fell asleep a little past midnight to the sound of rainfall on my window, my favorite sound.

The next morning I woke up at around 8:00 am to a call from my boss.
"hello?" I answered.

"hey harper"

"hey cody, what's up?"

"we have a 2:00 shift that needs to be covered, i was wondering if you want it"

I sighed.

"yeah I can be there" i said unwillingly.

"great! see you then" he said before ending the call.

I threw my phone to the other side of my bed and flopped onto my back. I liked my job, I really did, It was just a pain to work in the campus library especially around this time of year. midterms season.
I got dressed in a plain green hoodie and jeans with my favorite boots too. I didn't really worry about my hair as it was wavy today and didn't look too bad.

The day went pretty quickly. I studied a while for my anthropology class and worked out at the gym up the street where I liked too go, and before I knew it I was back at work. I answered some emails, took phone calls, helped students and re-shelved books until 7:00 when I finally was relieved of my duties for the day. I said goodbye to my coworkers and headed back home once again.

*As you guys probably know it takes a chapter or two to get into the juicy action so please be patient! I hope you enjoyed.*
