It had been days since Rachel and Tim had spoken. Rachel was too meek and gutless to approach him. As for Tim, he had completely forgotten about their encounter. He was sidetracked with his congested week. After that the thought of catching up with Rachel had slipped his mind and well.. had never gotten back up.

Days turned into weeks. Weeks turned into months. And now almost five months had passed and Rachel's constant fear of avoiding Tim had been triggered by a rumor. Rumor spread that Tim was interested in someone. Every single girl in school was buzzing. They bugged him trying to get the details but Tim denied everything. Rachel's jealousy then grew faster than a knife fight in a phone booth. She knew she had to act. And fast.

The end of school bell rang and Rachel got her bags out of her locker and started heading towards the bus stop. The immature year sevens are having a paper war with what looked like ripped pieces of the school newsletter. Suddenly she heard a voice at 2 o'clock. It was his. Her gaze faced towards him. He was talking to the new girl. Tim told a joke to break the ice. The girl giggled. That's how high school relationships always begin. The girl's mother beeps her car horn and walks off with a dopey smile on her face.

Then just as Rachel turned green with envy WABAMM! She trips over one of the year sevens' feet landing face flat on the concrete. They all stop immediately. Conversation ensues:

"Oooh that's gonna leave a mark"

"Dude apologise to her"

"She probably can't hear you"

"WHAT? SHE'S NOT DEAD!"

"You're all idiots. Hey miss, I'm sorry"

"Guys the bus is here"

The year sevens head towards the front entrance to the bus along with everyone else standing around. Rachel raises her head slowly. Her eyes fix upon one of the ripped pieces of the newsletter. It's the part with all the upcoming events and the dates beside them. One particular event catches her eye: Northwood High Scavenger Hunt. Rachel's mind exploded with a brilliant scheme.
