Not Anymore

She wandered about and tried to humor herself,
Reading a line from her book on the shelf,
"From the battle that you have started along with me,
To climb on top and become one and free."

Eyeing the words as loneliness overtook her,
She grabbed all the strength she could possibly muster.
Thoughts of an incident started flooding her head
As tears filled her sight, another heart she has to mend.

Snapped back from her unsteady state was something she heard
She closed the book, wiped her tears, and again, she learned
Someone knocked, but surprisingly, she locked the door
And said, "No one's going to do this anymore."
