I woke up to a bright light shining across my eye. I couldn't remember what happened and why I was feeling this way. My head was pounding and my eyes were burning from the sun shining in through the window. I tried to sit up and cover my eyes but I felt a pair of hands lay me back down.

"Princess. Don't get up, you need to rest you lost a lot of blood." I couldn't make out who was talking to me or what exactly they were talking about. I remember I saw Gaston's lifeless body on that bed but nothing more. I once again tried to sit up and then my stomach started turning. I leaned over the side of the bed and threw up whatever was coming out. It felt like needles soaked in acid were coming up my esophagus and I couldn't help but cry after I finished vomiting. My head was hurting even more and I thought maybe I got the flu or something and now I won't be able to play or go running. That was my main concern...not being able to play or run. I heard a mans voice over all the rest of the commotion going on in the room. It was my father.

"Find the witch! She's hurt my daughter badly! She's vomiting blood! If you don't find her in 24 hours I'll be sure to remove you from this position Caleb!"

And after that I heard loud boots and a slammed door. My father has never had a temper like this. Not until recently when Gaston came into the picture. I started to recall the day before. What all happened and why I was in the hospital and under such intense care. Gaston was changing? That cannot be possible. He was just a human boy. Not even strong enough to hold his own against a little witch. Werewolves, vampires, and witches rarely got along but now it's even worse. A witch has now started a war for sure. Thing is, no one can find her. Her name was Vierra? Sounded similar to Vonnie, the witch doctor for our clan. She is very loyal and doesn't take sides in the supernatural community. She has been with us since I can remember. Yes she's a witch but she never betrayed us. Or has she? I try to make out words loud enough for the nurses to hear but instead of a nurse it was actually Vonnie.

"Get Vonnie here...if we are dealing with a witch don't you all think we need a witch to help us? Now more than ever right?"

"I am here child. I know who the witch is. Unfortunately she is my sister. My twin sister. She has been practicing dark magic for years now and I'm assuming has mastered it on another level."

"I remember her saying something about Gaston after she started this mysterious ritual on him. She said something in Latin too." I turn to the bedside and drink some cold water to help soothe my stomach and headache. It instantly started working.

"Vierra has always been the evil twin. She never once wanted me to be here with you guys. She hates that I help the 'enemy.' Although I've told her countless times that you all are not a bad clan. You all are by far the nicest and most gentle werewolf pack I have ever encountered."

"Vonnie please tell me Gaston is going to be ok. I thought he was dead."

"At the moment he is stable. We're monitoring him closely as he's starting to come to. He is showing attributes of a transitioning wolf. Sweating. Agony. Fever. Headache."

"So how did he get that way? Did my father actually change him? I cannot remember what happened."

"Vierra used your blood as a biding agent to his life and his new life as a wolf. It's hard to explain but he is becoming a wolf because of you."

"Is that a bad thing?" I ask concerned.

"I truly hope not. I've never seen anything like it before. We will have to see for ourselves."

After a couple hours my headache is completely gone and now I can get up from the bed. I slowly take off the heart rate monitors and the IV needle in my hand. I survey the room and it looks like the nurses have went to their rooms for the night. But I know they are listening for any abnormalities on the machines so I leave the room as quickly and quietly as I can. I go into the hallway and see a couple guards at the end of the hall. They aren't paying attention so I sneak to the window and jump out. The cold air hits me and I've never felt more alive. I take a sharp right turn to the opening of the woods. I make sure to stay within the territory and not get spotted by guards lining the trees. I wonder if they ever get tired of watching and protecting everyone every single day.
