Trigger Warning: Cutting Mentions, Drinking Mentions, Suicide Attempt

Todoroki POV

What even was that? What kind of dad that isn't my own hits their kids? That didn't even look playful, it looked like it hurt based in Katsuki's face. And that smile.... What did that even mean? It's rare for him to smile and even then when he does, it's more prideful. Just now Katsuki looked... Sad? That can't be right though, he's full of confidence. Well, mostly. Maybe it was because of what happened earlier in school with Izuku. That had to be it. Something like that can mess people up.

I stood in front of Katsuki's home door for a few minutes after it closed. I clenched my fists and stalked back home. I silently closed the front door, hoping that everyone was still asleep but of course with my luck. There's my bitch ass dad.

“Where have you been, Shoto?”

“That's none of your concern.”

“You were hanging out with those faggot boys again weren't you? Shoto, I know I've told you before-”

“Again, none of your god damn concern. If I was with a boy then I was with a boy. Stop worrying about it. You can't change my fucking sexuality so stop attempting to get all up in my business so that you can try and crush my friends' feelings. He told me what you said to him.” It's not that it really mattered anymore. I had gone out with Izuku and Iida once and apparently, my dad thought it was a good idea to give Izuku a death threat. I let out a low growl and shoved past my father, going into my room and locking the door just as he tried to get in. I groaned in annoyance and flopped onto my bed.

“Shoto! Open the damn door!”

I'll just ignore him...

~Time Skip~

I awoke at the sound of my alarm clock blaring.. Another day of school. I got up, got dressed, got my things and put on my shoes. I quickly headed out, ignoring my sister's protest for me to eat some breakfast. As I was on my way, I caught Katsuki some ways ahead of me. He was wobbling a bit and he kinda looked... Disheveled. I walked a bit quicker to catch up and I gently grabbed his arm to get his attention. I wasn't really surprised to hear him wince and then snatch his arm away. He had cuts after all. I need to take that fact into consideration. Now that I'm closer, he looks fucking dreadful as if he hasn't slept in days. He smells like alcohol.

“Uh, Good Morning Bakugo.” All I got was a grumble in response. He quickened his speed to get away from me, and I did the same. I wasn't gonna let him go so easily, especially not with Izuku around. I know that Katsuki can take care of himself but apparently, not with Izuku.

“Have you been drinking Bakugo? You smell of alcohol. Don't you know you can get in trouble for—”

“I know god damn it! Whether I was drinking or not is for me to know and for you to never find out. Leave me alone!” Yep, he had definitely been drinking. Where'd he even get alcohol from? Why is he trying to avoid me so much all of a sudden? I didn't do anything wrong to him. At least, I don't think so. I just ended up walking a good distance behind Bakugo, but close enough to keep him in my sights. Soon, I was basically just following him, but that's when I realized that we weren't going towards to classroom. We were supposed to make a turn a while ago. Being curious, I continue following him until we ended up at the roof staircase. He stopped for a moment and looked back, looking over the crowd which instinctively caused me to hide out of his sight. I watched him go up the stairs and after a few seconds I went up there too.

Once I got there, Katsuki was taking off his shoes which had me a bit confused. I watched his movements from the doorway as he pulled off his jacket and unwrapped his bandages... His cuts.. They were worse.. So much worse. They scattered all along his arms, up to his shoulders it seemed. And they were deep as hell and still bleeding. He grabbed the railing and hopped over it, landing on the very edge which made me move instinctively. I thought he was gonna jump, but instead he just sat on the railing and stared out ahead of him. I calmed down a bit, relaxing my muscles.

Remember how I said he didn't jump? Well that all turned around within seconds of time. He got up again and turned around. He looked directly in my eyes as if he had known I was there the entire time. He gave me that exact weak smile from yesterday.. What was up with that? I start to go over to him, but the moment I moved, he took that deadly step back.

Off the rooftop.

I ran as quickly as I possibly could and hurled myself off the roof of the building. Everything seemed to be moving in slow motion...

I could hear people below screaming. Terrified screaming. I touched a bit of the school wall and shot ice near the bottom in a cradle like way. It's moments like this where, I'm glad my body is heavier than Katsuki's, it caused me to fall faster. Once close enough to the falling boy, I grabbed hold of him and pulled him to my chest..

Our impact caused the ice to shatter beneath me. I hit the ground with a hard and deathly sounding splat. I still kept a tight grip on Katsuki, who was now on top of me. Thank goodness, he was okay. Just a few scratches it seemed. He shot up, grabbing me by my collar. He looked terrified. He had tears running down his face despite how angry he sounded when he began speaking.

“What is wrong with you?! Why'd you jump too?!”

I heard some students screaming for help. I looked up at Katsuki and moved my hands to his cheeks, wiping his face.

“C'mon Kit-Kat, don't cry. 'Tis a flesh wound.”

“This is a terrible time to be making jokes you stupid IcyHot!” He screamed, not looking amused at all while I gave him the best smile I could muster. I was numb, I couldn't feel a thing, and I was slowly losing consciousness.

“I jumped to save you because, everyone deserves to live. Even you Katsuki.” I got to hear some pretty unexpected words before blacking out.

Shoto! You can't leave me!”
