I entered the living room once more. There were a lot of frames that were hanging on the wall.Oh, I didn't notice when we came in. Must have our backs turned.
The more I look at the photos, the more I feel a sense of familiarity for some reason. It was like I've already been in this room.
I also felt this when I saw Earl and Martha. It was like as if I've already met them before but I couldn't have.
Laughing can be heard from the dining room. It looks they're having fun. That's good.
"You okay in there Allison?"
"I'm okay Dad."
"Have you found the rest room? I can accompany if you like."
"No need Miss Martha. I'll be going upstairs in a moment. I'm just looking at the photos on your wall."
"Oh our photos! Haha. That's got quite a history to it."
"You don't say..."
Some of the photos were in black and white. Are these ancient manuscripts I'm looking at or am I just too young to understand.
There was one picture in fact that caught my attention. It was a guy in a suit. It seems to be newly framed.
Oh is this their son? Alex...
I can't quite put my finger on it but he seems familiar. It's look I've known him for a very long time but wai- It can't be. No, it can't.
I've brushed off the thought in my mind and went upstairs. It was really dark and I had trouble finding the light switch.
I tried to make my way through the dark but something thread-like got in my face.
What was that? It was not a good feeling.
I felt the thick threads hanging down from the ceiling. I immediately knew it was. I panicked!
"SPIDER!!!" I was frantic as I jumped up and down.
Dad immediately followed and accidently squished the spider on the floor. Well, wasn't the anticlimactic.
"You good sweetie?"
"Uhh...uh...yes...sss"
That was fun, wasn't it. I'm surprised I still needed to go the bathroom after that fiasco.
It was already past ten and we went to our respective rooms. Of course, Pat and I shared because you know, sibling goals or whatever they call it.
Finally, it's time to get some shut eye. I was about to close my eyes when Pat started talking.
"Alli, are you okay?"
That caught me off guard. How was I supposed to answer that question in way that he'll understand.
"Uhmm... yeah. Why do you ask?"
"Nothing... Good night."
What was that about? That was weird. He never asked me that question... hmm.
I didn't pay much attention to it and just decided to close my eyes.
Goodnight Northwood...
What new challenges will the morning bring?
