Chapter Nine

*Amara POV

Leo rubs my back as I cry into the crook of his neck.

"Hey, it is going to be all right," as he sits on the bed for we are now level. " I will always be there for you, even if you don't want me at the moment."

I look at him "Thank you for being here, I know I'm not the easiest person to be around".

" That is ok we all go through different things. I'm gonna start you a bath for you can relax for a while and not have to worry about things, " as Leo gets up and heads towards the bathroom door.

When he comes back I can slightly hear water running.

" Let's get you to this nice warm bath, " I start to get up but Leo picks me up instead.

"Hey, I can walk, " I say to him as he keeps walking.

"I know but I love when you are so close".

Once in the bathroom, I see the bathtub full of bubbles and the smell of lavender.

"Thank you again for all of this", I say as I put my hand on the side of his face.

" You are welcome, I will be in the other room if you need me, " he says walking out the door.

I walk over to the tub and the water is so warm. I get into the tub and I instantly feel more relaxed as I sit there.

After a while, I decided to get out. I want to learn more about Leo. I wrap the dark blue towel around me and head to find some clothes. I found a dark blue sweater that must be Leos as it reaches to the bottom of my thigh, also some black leggings.

As I walk out of the closet I see Leo working on some papers at the desk in the corner. Leo hasn't heard me yet so I decide to sneak up behind him. Once I'm behind him I wrap my arms around his neck. Leo jumps at the contact and surprise but once he realizes the electrical feel through the contact he slowly spins the chair around.

"How are you after the bath I made?" Leo says still holding a paper.

"It was really nice thank you".

"Anything for you. I like the outfit, " he says with a smirk noticing the sweater I have on. "It looks really nice on you. You can wear it whenever you want".

"Ok because I don't think you get this one back it is really soft".

"Ok, whatever you say. I have some paperwork to do. I can contact Maddie and see what she is doing, she can take you around the land".

"Sure, Maddie is super nice I will definitely go out while you are working on what this is, " waving my hand around his desk area.

" K, I will contact Maddie, " he says looking off into space " Maddie is on her way might want to go find some shoes." he says turning around back to his work.

I find a black and blue pair of Nikes in the closet and slip them on. Once I return I see Maddie standing in the doorway of the main room.

"Hey, you ready to go, we have a lot to see today, " as she walks more into the room.

" Let's go," I say. But before I leave I head over to Leo and give him one last hug. "I will be fine, if anything happens I will come straight back".

"I know, I just want you to be comfortable here. Your life has changed drastically in the past week." he whispers for only I can hear.

I walk towards Maddie and she held out her hand for me to take. I take her hand and we head out the door and walk into the kitchen.

"What are we doing in the kitchen?" I ask. I really don't want to eat after what happened earlier.

"I'm making you a small protein smoothie. Since you don't take eating a whole lot very well at the moment." As she pulls out a blender and pulls out different types of fruit. "You aren't allergic to anything?"

"No, I'm not allergic to anything that I know of."

"Well then this will be the best smoothie you have ever had," Maddie says putting things in I have never seen before.

"Maddie I don't think I have ever had a smoothie before, or most of these ingredients." I say looking at the colorful mess on the counter.

"Wait. You haven't had a smoothie before, well I'm glad you are about to try something great." As she hands me this dark purple drink. "Well take a sip I want to see your reaction".

Once I take a drink of the smoothie it is automatically the best thing I have ever had.

"Your has says it all! You love it! Now that you have your drink let's go walk around I have so much to show you". As she puts things away and in the sink.

Once outside I take a deep breath of the forest air, it smells like pine trees. As we are walking the gravel path I see people talking and looking at me strangely.

"Maddie, why are they talking and looking at me strangely?" I whisper as we walk.

"You are Alphas mate you are the talk of the pack. It will blow over in a while, Just don't pay attention to them." as we continue down the walkway.

"Sounds good what is there to see on this land?" I ask before taking another drink of this delicious smoothie I was given.

"Well we have several shops and then a bakery and a cafe, other than that we have a small neighborhood and two-pack houses plus the house you have been staying in."

"Wow, that is really cool, " as I finish off my delicious smoothie.

" Let's go to the main packhouse it has the most people in it". As we turn onto a new path.

Once we get there it looks more like a five-star hotel than a house. It also is one of the most beautiful places I have seen. Once we head into the house we are in a giant room that looks like it could be a living room. I look around and I see Ezra and Harper sitting on one of the couches.

"Hey, Harper. Hey, Ezra how are you, " as I walk over to an adjacent couch.

"Hey Am, how are you doing. Also, where is your boy toy?" Harper asks as I see Maddie trying not to laugh.

"Boy toy? Who are you talking about?" I ask.

"Leo duh he is your mate do automatically your boy toy".

"Don't listen to her Amara she is just messing with you. Leo is very nice, " Maddie says shooting her a glare.

"Ok, whatever, Leo and I are just friends." I say trying to reason with them. I start to feel the sick feeling again. I need to get out of here. I need a bathroom. " Where is the bathroom?" I start to feel my stomach churn again.

"Umm down the hall the second door on the left." Harper says pointing down the hallway.

I get up to head down the hallway but dizziness hits me. Both Harper and Maddie help me stay up. They walk me down the hallway to the bathroom, as they let go of me I stumble to the toilet and threw up again for the second time today. Harper and Maddie helped me back up and gave me a glass of water to wash my mouth out.

" Let's take you home. You have had a rough day, " Maddie says.

"Yea I want to go to bed, " as I look at them.

We head out back to the living room and Ezra is waiting here with a worried expression.

"Please don't tell Leo till we get back to the room, " as I look around the room.

"Ok, " they all say in unison.

We head out of the packhouse. I guess my outing has been cut short. We start towards the house.
