I wake up with a yawn and a luxurious stretch. As usual, Dip is calmly beeping away by my bedside, probably monitoring my vitals again, even though I've told them multiple times that my uneasy heart rate is nothing to worry about.
I get up from the bed, and giggle when my tummy jiggles a bit. Dip says that my tummy jiggles when I'm healthy! Healthy is always good, as is being happy. I skip a few paces just so I can see it jiggle more.
Dip beeps in distress before rolling after me, and I laugh before picking up my pace until I'm settled into a slow jog.
An alarm goes off, and it isn't like any alarm that I've ever heard before. I cover my ears and run back to Dip's side.
I allow myself to be led back to my room, and I take comfort in the white noise that fills the air.
Whatever the alarm means- I'm positive that it isn't anything bad! If it was, then Dip would warn me! They've have taken care of me, and I don't think that that will ever change.
Dip offers me a plate of food, and I take it eagerly, then dig in after thanking Dip for all the hard work they do for my sake.
I finish the food relatively quickly, then swing my legs back and forth a few times, wondering what I should do to pass the time until the alarm shuts off, and Dip assures me that there's no harm in going outside.
The door to my room swings open, and... something marches into the room.
Its all smooth, sleek metal and electric blue lines, and black holes mark where it's eyes should be.
Dip rolls in front of me, then beeps a few times, and I cower behind them as the thing marches closer and closer.
It looks down at Dip, almost cautiously- before reaching down and ripping Dip's head off- causing a squealing sound that causes my stomach to churn uncomfortably. Then it reaches into Dip's chest cavity and removes something... the thing in the creature's hand is grey and slightly moist-looking, but I can't get a good look at it before the metal creature crushes it between their hands.
I can barely hear my own screams over the klaxon alarms that flood in through my former sanctuary's walls.

The creature turns to look at me, and I look around for anything that could be used as a ...tool? A tool that will hurt this monster just as badly as it just hurt me.
I spy something out of the corner of my eye.
The walls.. Seem to be melting?
The off-white surface is giving way to darkness, interspersed with yellow flames, licking at the indigo skies.
If I wasn't so terrified and stunned, then I might've called it beautiful. But I AM terrified and stunned, so I don't take time.
I dart past the creature, and narrowly dodge one swinging talon that passes- just a few inches- above my head. I run down the stairs, and nearly stop out of habit- a habit of waiting for Dip- but my chest aches with loss at the realization that Dip isn't with me anymore.
I'm on my own.
A roar behind me snaps me out of my thoughts, and I realize that the metal creature hasn't given up the chase just yet.
It stands at the top of the stairs- glaring down at me as if I'm the one in the wrong.
I don't have much time to sort out my choices.
Option A, stay where I am and let the creature hurt me like it hurt Dip.
Option B, run down the stairs and hope the creature doesn't catch me.
Option C, jump.
I take a deep breath.. go to the edge of the stairs... close my eyes, and then... I jump.

The air rushing past my body makes me feel as light as a feather, though I know that I am far heavier than a feather could possibly be.
I seem to have been falling forever when I hit the thick, gel-filled cushion that covers the floor of my former sanctuary.
It jiggles violently in response to me landing on it, and I mumble an apology before feeling stupid about apologizing to a floor of all things. Then I realize that I should focus more on getting away from the monster above me, because, said monster is marching down the stairs at a rather alarming pace.
