KRYSTAL’S POV

Walking down the halls in school makes me remember just how much I hate this place, how much I hate seeing the same faces all over and over again.

Then I spot my friends actually ‘friend’, my only friend, Laura down the hall.

I walked up to her and then she quickly smiled at me, happy to see me.

‘Hey’ I said, smiling back at her

‘God, is it just me or does this place actually get worse by the minute’, she said.

‘Yeah trust me, we haven’t even seen worse yet’, I said. We both laugh together.

Suddenly there was a rumble down the hall, I could hear people laughing and shouting, hailing the school’s basketball team.

I turned around to look at them when my eyes met with Alex Tate, the hot Spanish boy that I had a thing for since 10th grade.

I quickly turned around and tried to pick up what Laura was saying to me, apparently she was talking to me but my mind wasn’t there.

‘………..it’s going to be awesome, so I will see you at the party this Saturday, yeah?’, Laura said.

‘Yeah’ I replied back with little attention.

WAIT, did she just say a party??!!. Before I could say anything to her she was already walking to class yelling ‘Great! So don’t forget, 8pm at Alex’s house!!!’

A PARTY?? AT ALEX’S HOUSE?!!   ALEX??!!!!!! , slowly my brain began to piece everything together, I was going to Alex’s party, SHIT, I had nothing to wear. I was so excited about the party that I went to the mall immediately after school to buy a new dress using the only money I had saved last summer.

TIME SKIP TO SATURDAY

I got there by 9, I could hear the loud music blaring from across the street, as I got closer to the house I saw a couple kids outside the house, most were from my school but I had no idea who they were.

I opened the door into the main parlor, and scanned the room looking for Laura.

A lot of kids were by the beer kegs, as they chanted ‘DRINK! DRINK!!’ to a guy who was trying to chug a whole keg down his throat, a couple other kids were dancing, drinking from beer cups and making out.

<Eww, disgusting> I said to myself. Where the hell is Laura?!.

Then I heard a familiar laughter coming from the kitchen. It was Laura. I quickly opened the door to the kitchen and I was frozen when I saw them. Actually, when I saw HIM.

<OOPS, That’s it am DEAD!!>

………………….       ………………………….         ……………………………..     ……………………………. ………………………

There were six people in the room, Laura, Alex, Matt and two other guys and a girl I didn’t recognize.

‘Hey!! Krystal!!’ Laura yelled my name ‘Come join us we were just about to start’

‘Start what?’ I asked.

‘Truth or dare, are you in in?’ Matt, one of Alex closest friend said sloppily, he was drunk, I could tell.

‘No, am sorry guys, I’m not interested’ I said shyly, then I looked at Alex, I could see his face drop in disappointment.

I quickly walked out of the room, I felt someone follow me but I didn’t want to turn around to know who it was.

‘Hey Krystal, wait up’. I know that voice, I have dreamt about that voice a thousand times.

I turned around and saw him, he was perfect, with his dark hair and symmetrical face. He took his time to dress up, he wore black jeans and a maroon shirt with a black leather jacket on top.

‘Hey Alex. I thought you were playing a game with them?’ I asked, trying to hide the awkwardness in my voice.

‘I wasn’t really interested’ he said while looking around the room, trying to avoid making eye contact.

He was shy. And I found that absolutely cute.

I took one more look at him while his eyes wandered around the room. He was gorgeous. He was olive skinned with blue eyes. Those perfect blue eyes. They had a mixture of guilt, pain and loss.

‘So, I know we don’t talk much but it was nice seeing you at my party’ he said trying to scan my face to read my emotions. To check if I was impressed by how awesome his party was.

‘Yeah, it’s a pretty cool party’

‘By the way, I was wondering if you would like to hang out with me sometime.’

Did Alex Tate just ask me out on a date?!!!.

‘Like a date?’ I asked him trying to sound cool but not desperate.

‘Yeah, I would love to go out with you, Krystal’

I must be dreaming Alex Tate just asked me out on a date. YAY!!.

‘okay sure’ I said trying to hide my over-the-top happiness

‘Awesome’ he said. His face lit up with a smile.

He was happy, and I loved that he was happy because of me.
