Second Thoughts.

Krystal's POV

I got home at 1am. I had to use the backdoor which was thankfully close to my room to sneak into the house.

As soon as I got into room, I took off my shoes and jumped on the bed. I laid on my back and I couldn't help but go over what happened earlier this night.

'This is it.'
I thought. 'This was the moment I've been waiting for.'

Even though I'm smiling from ear to ear right now I can't help but feel empty.
I know I'm meant to be gushing over finally getting a date with someone I've basically liked my whole life but I feel like something is missing.

No. No. No.  I shake the bad thoughts off. Maybe that's just me being nervous.
"Get over it Krystal, You have always wanted this" I say to myself.

I roll under the cover and try to shut off my thoughts and maybe get some sleep. After a few minutes of over thinking I finally drift off.

-------------- — ------------- — ----------------- — ------
It's Friday. The day I am to go out with Alex.  I came to school by 6am to read for the test we have today. I always love how quiet everywhere is because only a few people are in school at that time.

I texted Laura a few minutes ago to find out when she would get here. I told her I would help with her Geometry home work today.

I was about to text her again to find out if she was close when the classroom door opened and Jason Dempsey walked in,  dragging his feet on the floor to his desk and literally slumped into his chair and then placed his head on his desk without even acknowledging my presence.

I stare at the strange human.

Jason Dempsey, who is popularly known as 'JayDee' is one of the weirdest people to ever walk this planet.

He barely shows up to class but somehow magically gets an A in almost all his classes. He rarely hangs around anyone, Ever. Except for his friend Zach who is totally a nerd and also president of the robotics club.
For two people who have so little in common, they sure are really close.

JayDee is the type of guy who you think would be a jock or in a band because he always seems to dress in black tight jeans and shirts and Jackets.
He literally goes nowhere without his jackets.

He considers Elon Musk to be the greatest person to ever live and he practically worships him and adores what ever he creates. For his science project he created a mini version of Elon Musk's Cybertruck and gave the class a lecture on why he considered it revolutionary.

I guess that's what him and Zach have in common. They are both interested in Engineering stuffs.

Zach was your typical nerd dressed in a beanie. Who always gets bullied and JayDee was always there to defend and rescue him.

"I think you can stop staring at me now." He says with his head still on his desk.

I yelp a little out of panic before saying "I wasn't staring," in a high pitched voice.

"Yeah, right." He says.

"What's your deal anyway?"

"Excuse me?" I say. I am a little confused by his question.

"I mean, who comes to school at 6am? What the hell?" he replied and I roll my eyes at his question.

It's funny that he's asking me this because he is literally in school at 6am with me.

"Well you should ask yourself the same thing. Why are you here anyway?" I fire back at him.

He mumbles something to himself before he raises his head slowly and looks at me.

"Well, if you need to know, I got wasted at a party yesterday and I didn't want to go home to deal with my mom so after hanging around the place for a little while I decided to come here." he says to me with his eyes barely open.

I could see it in his eyes.  He looks really hungover.

"Oh" was all I was able to say to him.

"You haven't answered my question yet" he says reminding me that I am still yet to give my reason.

"Well, I have a Chem test today and I need to read, because I got a B- on the last test and I really don't want anything to affect my GPA so that when I apply to college I can get into an Ivy League. Oh and I also have to tutor my bestfriend, Laura, on Geometry and she -"

I had barely completed my statement when he says "Oh great, I get it. You are a nerd. You came to study" while rolling his eyes, but he immediately regrets his action when he winces in pain and places his hands on his head.

He has a headache. I could tell.

I reached into my purse and pulled out a packet of painkillers and handed it over to him along with my bottle of water.

"Here. This will help"  I say. He grabs the items from my hands, pops two pills in his mouth and then gulps them down with the water.

"Thanks" he says and returns the packet to me. It sounded like he barely meant it.
So much for helping him. I roll my eyes once more.

When I glance around, I noticed the class was getting full and it was already 7:45am. I didn't realize that time had passed by so quickly and I also didn't notice people coming into the classroom.

Soon, the class was full of students and the bell went off for first period.

I checked my phone to see a text that Laura sent almost 40 minutes ago telling me she wouldn't come to school today because she wasn't feeling too well.

I sent her a little 'get well soon' text and made a mental note to call her after my Chem test, when the teacher walked in with our test papers in hand.
