A lonely Christmas?

'Another day of nothing but snow and icy winds outside. Is there really much of a point in making plans this Christmas?' The midfielder and musician thought to himself. The weather said it would be snow all week, followed by freezing winds. His best friend went on holiday outside the country, the brunette had plans, and so did everyone else. He felt lonely. On the day you spend with family and friend, Shindou Takuto felt lonely. But why wouldn't he? No one was around to be with him today. His mother left the country for work, he's an only child, and the soccer club had plans. What was he meant to do? He lay on his bed and stuffed his face into his pillow. After a while he stood up, got some food and turned the TV on. Christmas played all day, there were Christmas songs playing on the radio, and all the Christmas lights outside were on. All but his. Then he realized something. He had someone. His guest from before was staying at his home for a bit, and if he remembered correctly, she was still asleep. He silently opened the door and laying on the bed was his friend and teammate, Niko le Cometa. He didn't want to wake her so he didn't chance it and allowed her to wake up on her own. "Merry Christmas Shindou" a tired voice greeted. "Merry Christmas" he smiled. The girl sat down next to him and looked up, rubbing her eyes before realizing she didn't have her goggles. But just shrugged it off saying today was special. She then inspected the room and stood up and walked over to the tree. "It's Christmas Shindou, you should turn on your Christmas lights." She smiled flicking the switch. The midfielder smiled back, maybe... it wasn't so lonely after all. The two laughed and talked until Shindou asked what she used to do for Christmas. "Ah... well, I never used to spend Christmas." She replied. "Why not?" Shindou asked. "'Cause, who would I spend it with?" She said. Shindou then remembered that she was an orphan and ran away from home. "Well now you have someone to spend it with." He smiled. Niko gave a small smile in response to Shindou's. "Why don't you make Christmas cards for the team?" She asked. "I didn't think of that" Shindou answered. "Cmon, I'll help you!" Niko said pulling his arm. Shindou laughed as he followed behind.

A while later

A little while later the doorbell rang. Niko went to see who it was but Shindou told her not to. And although she was curious, Niko followed Shindou's request. He walked towards the door and stood in front of it. "Who's there?" He called. There was no response. He carefully opened the door to see a small package outside. Niko walked up to him and looked over his shoulder to see what it was. They went back and sat on the couch. Shindou opened the package to see gifts from the entire team. Including Kirino. He looked at it as he read a card signed by the team, his eyes filling with tears of happiness as Niko just watched, confused by what was happening. She was confused because she saw Shindou as a person who shows no major emotion on the outside, so to see him crying was new to her. She patted his back and smiled saying that you're never alone. Shindou looked at her and smiled. "Thank you" he said. Niko smiled and hugged him. "I won't let you be lonely on the day I was" She said. Shindou patted her head and said that she's also not alone anymore. After that the two chatted and laughed, watched some Christmas movies that made Niko wanna throw up at how cheesy it was, and the sleep they had that night was wonderful.
