It's been more than a week after Christmas. All of Raimon's players were taking down Christmas decorations and putting them back where they were before they took them out. All but Raimon's soccer team captain, Endou Mamoru. (A/N: this is in the OG timeline!)  The Soccer nut hadn't been home at all since the holidays ended. He's always been at his beloved riverbank practicing, whether it's rain or shine, frost and snow, he's always practicing. Endou's friend, Kazemaru Ichirouta, would normally be worried about him, but nowadays he feels like Endou forgot about him. He began avoiding Endou, which made the other worried, extremely worried.

Endou's POV

"Kazemaru! Where are you going?!" I asked, running after him. Why won't he answer me? "Kazemaru!!" I called again, tears forming in my eyes. But he kept running.... I stopped moving, and for some reason, he did too. He looked back at me, and when he saw my teary eyes, his immediately widened. He looked down but then ran over to me. "Endou why are you crying?" He asked softly, wiping the tears away. I looked him, not saying a word. "Why? Why did you keep running?" I asked, more tears forming. Kazemaru stayed silent for a minute and then he looked away. "Kazemaru please! Did I do something wrong!?" I asked, griping his shoulders. "I thought... maybe you forgot about me. After all, you were so busy with practice.. I called you multiple times but you never answered.." he replied. My expression became confused as I took out my phone. Then I saw what he meant.... '12 missed calls from Ichirouta'. I wanted to cry, my heart already was. I let go of Kazemaru and took a step back. "Meet me at the riverbank after school..." I said. Kazemaru looked confused, but nodded. I smiled a little and walked away from him. Maybe... now is a good time to say how I feel.

A little while later

"Endou?" Kazemaru called walking onto the grass on the riverbank. He looked around to see who he was looking for, sitting alone on the bank at the water. The blue haired boy walked over to the soccer nut and sat next to him. "Endou? What's wrong?" He asked. Endou looked at him and smiled. "Well.. I- Kazemaru I... I like you Kazemaru..." Endou said, his face a bright red.  Kazemaru's face turned red when he heard what Endou said. "W-what?" He asked, thinking he was hearing things. "I said I like you Kazemaru..." Endou repeated. Kazemaru turned away from Endou. He wasn't ashamed though, he was surprised. He thought Endou would've had feeling for someone else like Natsumi or Aki. "You don't need to accept my feelings. You can think about it and tell me once you've made up your mind." He smiled. Kazemaru looked down now. He felt a little upset. He knew Endou for a long time but he never expected this to happen. Then Endou stood up. "Like I said, you don't need to reply instantly. I can wait." The soccer nut said before walking away. Kazemaru instantly stood up and grabbed the others hand. "Endou I-" the boy took a deep breath before replying. "I like you too. But right now, I need to get all these random thoughts out of my head." He said before hugging Endou. Endou hugged back and smiled. "I'm glad you feel the same!" He said. "I'm glad too." The other smiled. "Do we tell the team?" Kazemaru asked. "Not yet. Give it sometime and then we'll tell them." Endou replied. Kazemaru nodded and the two walked home.
