Chapter Ⅸ

           I wake up at quarter to seven and I went to sleep at four thirty. I couldn't help staying up all night even though my coach told us not to.
We all were up listening to music talking playing the game just enjoying each other's company. I haven't seen them boys in months.

         I wake Jayla up and we get ready to leave.

           I put my hair in a bun and don't even feel like putting my contacts in. My warm up is what I put on with my uniform underneath.
       My mom like always is in the kitchen.

           "We're leaving." I tell her with Jayla next to me.

Mom: "Alright we'll be there probably one of the last games because they are not getting up any time soon."

                      "Okay I'll see you later."

Mom: "Hey did your dad say he was coming."

                  "No was he supposed to?" I ask grabbing my key out of the bowl on the counter.

Mom: "Yea I told him these are your last games he should be there."

                  "He didn't tell me anything but I'm pretty sure they had a game last night there supposed to be back today I doubt he's coming."

Mom: " We'll have to see."

                  "I could care less really he's always put his boys over me it's nothing new."

Mom: "It's not supposed to be like that."

           "I'll see you later mom." I said as I walked out of the door.

         Jayla and I get in the car and are on our way.

       We get to the school and everyone is in the hall where we eat. Everyone is sitting at the tables eating their food.
       I put my bag down and get in the buffet line to get my food.

     I end up getting eggs a pancake and bacon with an orange juice.
       Me and Jayla sit down next to Cassia and Brielle.

Cassia: "What's up y'all"

                "Fucking tired man." I say say starting to eat.

Cassia: "I feel that."

Jayla: "This food hittin though."

              "Sure is." I take a bite of my eggs.

     After everyone eats I get on the bus. It doesn't leave for a few more minutes but Imma get my spot and go back to sleep. I put my AirPods and I'm out.

         I wake up to the bus coming to a complete stop don't know how long the ride was but I got a good ass nap.

        My slides are on the ground
I put them on. I grab my bag and stand out of my seat.

         We go into the school and I'm trying to wake myself up because we have one of the first games.

           This is like an aau tournament so there's two courts. We are playing the lower seed teams first then we play the better teams.

        The first two games we played went good we won them both. We had to play over the course of two hours because there are so many teams in the tournament. We made it to the semis.

   We're watching the game that determines who we play in the semifinals.

         My phone starts to ring and it is my dad calling me.
                                 "Hello?"
