Dylliena POV
I take off my hoodie but leave my sweatpants on because it is very cold.
I sit down on a bench and put my knee pads around my ankles then my shoes.
I leave the locker room and go into the gym. I pick up a volleyball and see Jayla.Me and her are passing partners but she's not paying attention.
I throw the ball at her she turns around and the ball comes back to me."Come on"
Jayla: "Shut up" she semi yells.
We overhand throw the ball to the ground back and fourth to stretch out our arms.
"You ready?" I ask her.
She nods and I throw the ball to her and she bumps it back to me and I bump it to her.Out of the corner of my eye I see the other team walking in the gym.
We played them during the regular fall season and won.
After the other team gets on the floor and warms up a little bit the refs call captains over.Me and the senior captain Cassia go in the middle of the court on the others teams side.
Two girls with black hair stand across from us.
I don't remember them being the captains in the fall.
I guess they switch in the winter.Referee: "Introduce yourselves" he said fidgeting with the coin in his hand.
"Dylliena" I shake the hand of the girl who is across from me.
Girl: "Imogen"
Cassia: "Cassia" I hear her introduce herself.
We cross over "Dylliena" I shake the other girl's hand.
Girl: "Laken."
The coaches shake hands then the referee explains the rules regarding the lines.
Referee: "Away team will call it Home team repeat what it's called.
He flips the coinLaken: "Heads" she calls it in the air.
Cassia: "Heads" she repeats.
Referee: "it's tails...Home team"
"We'll have serve"
Referee: "Alright good luck ladies"
We shake the girls hands again telling them good luck then return to our side.
Everyone starts asking who's has serve.
"We do" I say and hear the whistle blow meaning the other team gets off the court and we can hit.Our assistant coach grabs the ball cart. The setter goes to the net everyone else gets in line on the outside.
We all start hitting and I'm next in line. I'm left handed so I start different from everyone else.
Coach tosses the ball to the setter she sets and I go up and hit it.
My teammates yell and get hype.
They stick their hands out and I hit them all.
I get back in line and realize I don't have any type of drink. I look around to see if there is anybody I know that would get me one.
