Bands don't save lives.
I hate to tell you, but it's true.
You can say it all you want, but how did they save you?
Their lyrics, did they speak to you?
Did they inspire you?
What could have been your last thoughts, turned into your life saving ones.
You thought of them.
Their deep, great love for you.
The songs.
The way they're there for you.
But-
Who's the one who thought of that in the possible last minutes?
Who's the one who thought they weren't cared about by the ones they love?
The one who realized that it's worth it?
The one who was going to end everything?
Last minute, freaking out, can't breathe, didn't know what to do, wanting desperately to die, but wants to know.
Answers. That's all you need. All you wanted were answers.
Why doesn't that one person care for you?
Why can't everyone notice that you're broken?"You are the one that figured out your way through life this far, why end here? " you think to yourself.
Those bands, singers, musicians, songwriters, they mean the world to you. They don't want a single person to end their life. They try to put a positive influence on life. They love you with everything, more than everything.
You're the one who thought of them with the possibility of ending your life. The one who was one second away but never ended it. The one that realized that you are worth the world to some people. You saved yourself. Don't try and think otherwise. You can tell yourself anything and everything but I know in my mind in my heart that you can do it and save you. You are there for you after their deaths. Until you are gone, possibly after that, you are there for yourself. No, you cant control suicidal thoughts. You can control what you make of them. You may not think so, but you can fix everything.
You're your own hero. You're there with the gun to your head, the knife to your throat, your wrist, the pills in your hand. But who's the one who realizes that you want to stay?
You saved your life that day, or will save it in the future. Just realize this before it's too late.
