The taller stands on the large rock and dusts his pants a bit while the smaller takes wary glances at the gem.

He can still see it.

The taller jumps down from the rock and walks back over to where the stone was supposed to be and looks at the surrounding stones.

He points to where the stone I supposed to be and he asks,

"Here?"

The smaller nods without his gaze leaving the stone.

The taller notices this and looks back to where the smaller's gaze is. He raises an eyebrow and starts to feel around the rocks.

The smaller slowly gets off the rock and jumps down to the ground. The taller raises an eyebrow and just stands and allows the smaller to walk towards the rock in a sort of trance.

The smaller reaches forwards the rock of only which he can see and starts to pull even harder on it.

He twists and turns the rock in hopes it will get looses but to no avail.

Its as if it doesn't want to go.

He huffs angrily in a mad rage starts to kick the wall over and over again.

By this time the taller decided to try t hold him back and kept telling at him to stop but it was as if his attempts fell onto deaf ears.

The smaller continues until huffs and comes to his senses.

He asks quickly,

"What happened?"

The to taller walks towards him and put his hand in his pocket bringing out the dark gem.

"This."

The smaller looks at him questionly and looks from his hand to him and raises an eyebrow slowly as he asks,

"How did that get there?"

The taller smirks and says,

"I suspect this is the shadow stone.... It has one of the worst conditions."

"How so?"

The taller looks at his hand and can't see but can feel it strangely enough.

He takes the stone and puts it back in the younger's pocket as he answers the question.

"You lose your sanity."

The younger shrugs and says,

"That doesn't sound like a bad deal."

The taller looks away while biting his lip and wispers to himself,

"They all say that..."

The younger raises an eyebrow and moves closer and asks,

"Say what?"

The taller purses his lips together before spilling anymore information and dismisses his question saying,

"Its not important, you don't need to worry about that okay? Let's just get out of here, it's starting to creep me out."

The taller starts to walk towards the exit in fast strides not allowing the smaller to keep up and the younger persists with his question,

"What do they all say?"

"It's not important so don't worry about it."

The smaller getting frustrated now says while grabbing the taller's wrist and pulling him back,

"I need to know."

The taller a bit startled, starts to tap his feet nervously and look anywhere but at the younger says,

"It's a curse."

The younger tries to process what he said and exclaims,

"A what?!"

The taller rolls his eyes and says annoyed now,

"It's. A. Curse."

The younger let's go of his wrist and with a surprised expression asks,

"How?"

He sighs and brings his hand up to this forehead rubbing it and says,

"You know other the stones I told you about?"

"Yeah?"

"Unlike this stone, they don't take anything from the user."

He moves towards the entrance the came from and sits continuing,

"Anyone can use them, and they don't choose who they want."

The smaller now finally grasping the situation, asks,

"How is this one different?"

The taller looks away and says quickly,

"It kills it's user."

The words fly out of his mouth so fast that the smaller barely has time to process it, and he shouts,

"It does what?!"

The taller knew that the younger would get mad at him for not warning him then decides to tell him the full story,

"It drives them insane, leaves their mind in ruins, tortures them mentally. It is the forbidden stone."

The smaller drops to his knees and starts to son while the taller continues,

"Those stones you saw in there were it's past users, I—I didn't know then but I know now and I'm sorry."

He gets up to hug the smaller who is crying silently and pull him into an embrace continuing to say,

"It chooses it user in some dark twisted way. It's the worst stone of all."

The taller brings the smaller's head to his shoulder and rubs his back slowly,

"It's not spoken about because the price to pay for its power is too much."

He too, starts to have tears pricking at his eyes and continues to explain,

"It drives it's user to insanity and eventually they kill themselves."

The taller starts to climb up the muck entrance with disgust and the shorter follow behind him.

"Can I get rid of it?"

They reach the top and start to wipe off all the mud and the taller says solemnly,

"No."

The younger waves his arms around in a fit of anger and asks,

"So I'm just destined to die?!"

The taller raises an eyebrow and sighs before answering,

"Yes and no."

The smaller looks into the taller's bright green eyes, his eyes pleading with him to continue,

" You will need to have a powerful will and control of your mind—forget it it's impossible, no one has ever been able to do it."

The smaller looks up at him with eyes full of ditermination,

"I'll do it."
