Jade POV
*********
The doorbell rings a second time and I tell Jett to go get it. I hear him go to the door, his silver earring swinging back and worth as he walks.Jett sticks his head back around the corner and says, "It's some guy. He says his name is Colin Caswell."
"Let him in. That's the name of the guy that staying with us," Sage says.
"How do you know that?" I ask.
"Chiana left a piece of paper here for us that says his name," he replies.
"Well that's a first," I tell them while looking towards the front door.
Jett and Sage look at me expectantly.
"Let him in," I say, trying to sound positive.
Jett opens the door as I walk into the kitchen. I look around the now empty room wondering were the rest of my siblings went. Sighing, I wander over to where Jett and Sage stand by the door, staring out onto the porch.
"Well? Is it him?" I ask, placing a hand on Sage's shoulder.
Looking up , I see a tall, muscular, broad-shouldered, teenage boy with deep brown eyes that match very dirty blonde hair that he keeps pushing out of his face. There was just one thing that looked off about him. He looked very arrogant. It may have been hard to tell with his head bent down, fingers scrolling through a phone.
As if reading my thoughts, Sage turns to me and he mutters, "Man, this guy looks like a total ass."
"Sage!" I whisper fiercely. "You can't say that! Aunt Chiana will find out!" But really, inside I was laughing and thinking it was true.
Sage shrugs, his adidas jacket shifting over his muscular shoulder bones. "So? What's she going to do, ground me?"
I shoot him a glare before hissing loud enough for only him to hear, ''You're forgetting that she's in charge. If we don't obey her we will be sent to different foster homes."
Sage lets out a long sigh. "Fine, Prince Charming can stay."
"Of course he can stay, you idiot. We're forced to have him here," I respond with an agitated huff.
Goodness, can't Sage make anything easy for me?
I turn to Colin and introduce myself. "Hi, my name's Jade. My aunt is the one who invited you to stay here," I tell him with a tight smile.
Colin looks up from his phone. "Huh? Oh, hey. Colin Caswell," he says while extending his hand, presumably for me too shake. I don't shake it. I'm not trying to be rude, but I don't want him to think that I'm just going to bow down to him like I presume other girls do to him.
Colin POV ***************
I arrive at the address my mom gave me. I ring the door bell and wait for them to answer. My parents are visiting my family members and they decided not to take me. My little sister Amanda is staying with a friend while they are gone. I ring the doorbell again and then I hear footsteps running toward the door. The door swings open and I'm met with a boy who looks like he's about 16. He has dark brown hair and dark green eyes. He seems a bit muscular and he looks about 5'7. He has a silver earring hanging from his left ear and smiles warmly at me.
"Hey, my name's Jett. Are you that one guy that we should be expecting?" he asks.
I answer, "Yeah, I think so. My name's Colin Caswell."
