"ARRGH! SECOND! AGAIN"

The cry was as loud as a war horn. Pretty sure everyone in the whole neighborhood heard but Aithne didn't care and continued screaming profanities at the man who got first rank.

"F*ck kim seokjin! F*ck that prick! I swear when I see that jerk I'm gonna--"

"Whoah there girl calm down...you're getting a little bit too...WILD there aren't'ya?" Ivy, Aithne's best friend cut her off, a teasing smirked plastered her small face.

"Ivy!! Now's not the time okay?!??" Aithne retorted in annoyance

"I know, I know...I just wanted you too loosen up you know? You're taking this ranking thing way too seriously" Ivy said in seriousness.

"Vy...you know I can't just remain second. My parents are already doubtful of letting me take this course and I'm going to be forced to take something boring if I don't get to the top of this bullsh*t of a ranking system!" Aithne complained.

"Aith the ranking system isn't bullsh*t and we both know that" Ivy responded while nonchalantly flipping the page of her book.

Aithne sighed deeply, slowly feeling her soul slip out of her body. "I know Vy, I know. It's just- Argh! -so frustrating" she said as she buried her head onto one of her roommate's pillows.

Ivy looked at her in pity and closed her book to turn her body to face Aithne.

"Hun, it's not you who's not enough okay? Jin's cooking is just too good." she teased once more.

"Not HELPING Vy" Aithne snarled.

"Sorry, I'm gonna stop now." she grinned but turned serious again.

"Maybe you're just lacking some inspiration y'know? I mean you've been so worried about your parents' expectations of you that maybe....just maybe...you lost that 'spark' that got you into cooking" Ivy continued

It got Aithne taken aback. "I...I never thought of it like that before..."

She gasped, "Maybe I did lose whatever spark that was..."

"Why don't you get some fresh air and think about it" Ivy suggested while gently pushing her friend out of the room and with a sweet smile, she closed the door.

Aithne stood there for a second still processing everything. She sighed putting her earbuds on and decided to head to the park nearby just to clear her head.

She sat on one of the benches trying to think. For a couple of minutes, she just stared into space, the song "scenery" playing in her ears.

Everything was peaceful and silent until she heard a muffled laugh. She turned to look at the source and standing there, the man she hated the most, the one and only Kim Seokjin...

He looked like an angel from there, the sun just behind him. His laugh ringing into her ears. It was unforgettable. Oh so unforgettable for her...

Of course, it was the reason she got hurt in the first place...

Back in her elementary days, she had always looked up on one of the male students because of his amazing cooking skills. She once tasted them on a booth during an event and it tasted heavenly. It made her want to also be able to cook and someday be as good as the boy. Because of this, she thought it would be a good idea to give him cookies she made for valentines and hoped to impress him even just a little.

After the classes were dismissed, she walked towards the boy and his group of friends.

"Uhm...S-sorry for wasting your time b-but I just wanted to give you this..." she said, her voice close to inaudible but the heat on her cheeks just made it harder for her to talk so once he got the pack of cookies, she bowed and ran to hide behind a wall to hear what he thinks.

"So~~~ how is it? Is it good? Is it good?" one of his friends asked.

"It's salty as heck, you can have it if you want cause I wouldn't want to eat that ever again. The girl should definitely not go around giving cookies like THESE to people. HAHAHAHAHA"

HAHAHAHAHA

HAHAHA..

HA...

It was trauma for her to say the least. Imagine your role model saying that to you right. Alas, his laugh still haunted her to this day.

Her mind wandered to the time the prick confessed to her...

He had a bouquet of buckwheat flowers held up to her as he asked her to be his girlfriend but in her mind all she thought of was how he talked about her back then. Sure, it's been years but that left a scar on her. He probably forgot all about it but she didn't care. She would never want to be with him. Although at the back of her mind she was thinking

Maybe he changed...

Maybe I should hive him a chance...

But of course it always goes to-

But I don't even know him that well...

What if I get hurt?

What if he never changed and is still that prick whom I gave cookies to?

And so, she decided to be blunt and straight up reject him

But what if she decided to say yes to him?
Would things be different?
Maybe a little bit nicer?
Would the hatred be gone by now?

She stared at him who was still smiling with his friend and wondered...

If I accepted the confession would he smile like that with me?

"I still wonder, wonder beaytiful story
Still wonder, wonder best part
I still wander, wander next story
I want to make you mine"

The music shouted into her ears. It was the perfect scene. He was smiling, behind him was the sun, the cherry blossoms were falling and the music speaked out what she was thinking. That maybe, just maybe it may have been different if he gave him a chance.

Just as she thought of that, Jin had met her eyes.

She brushed it off however.

"whatever, that isn't gonna help me beat him either way"

She turned around and walked to another direction. Somewhere there is no kim seokjin to bug her mind hopefully.
