A College Poem

By Alexander Billingsley

"My eyes grow weary as I sit at my desk"

"Drunken from my lack of rest I continue on to do my best"

"I read away at my Psychology book, hoping to be ready for the day it stood"

"The chicken howls at me from a far, its 3:37am in the morning, rest is calling me"

"However, I feel motivated to beat the clock, perhaps a nap might help"

"I rested my head against my pillow, hoping to do good for tomorrow"

"My test are on Monday and Tuesday, failure is not an option"

"Yet, for tonight, my eyes begin to get heavier and heavier"

"May the chicken howl as I fall asleep"

"May the Sun, as beautiful as it may be, not wake me in my slumber"
