Heavy rain was pouring down on the city of Seattle, creating an eery look and feel as Brent drove through the now almost empty streets, I closed my eyes and released a heavy sigh. The days events was busy taking its toll on me, I felt extra tired as I thought back to what happened earlier today,
He was literally a few yards away from me,
His face was lingering in my mind as I sat in silence, my thoughts racing as I tried to remain calm. I hated that he got away so easily.
He didn't expect us to show up today, but he knew we'd come eventually.
"Are you okay" Brent asked as we neared the police station, interrupting my thoughts, I slowly opened my eyes and turned towards him, "I think so" I lied and gave him a small smile.
He was busy focusing on parking his ford Torino in front of the station. He turned the ignition off and faced me, his eyes sad as he stared at me, "its okay if you're not Ally" he whispered and rose his hand, gently cupping my face. I knew he saw straight through me and right into my soul, he knew I wasn't okay, and he knew I tried to hold up a barrier to keep myself strong. He always knew.
"Its okay to feel scared sometimes" he added with a small smile as his eyes slowly fell to my lips, "you'll always have friends backing you up" he murmured, leaning closer as every second passed.
My mind went completely blank as Brents face got closer to mine. Everything that has been troubling me disappeared as I waited in anticipation for his lips to touch mine. He had this way about him, a safe vibe, where I could feel at home and be myself at all times. He gave me the peace of mind that he would hold me together when I fell apart and make me laugh when everything seemed to be an abyss of heartache and disappointments.
My eyes fluttered closed the moment Brents lips touched mine leaving me breathless. I felt at ease as Brent kissed me. His lips softly caressed mine reassuring me that he'd stand by me no matter what.
Brent pulled away slowly, staring deeply into my eyes, "we'll catch him" he whispered and softly kissed my nose, "I won't rest until we do" he added.

Inside the station we met with chief Babinueax in his office to discuss what happened, "explain what happened" he instructed as he sat down behind his desk.
"We went to Josh Bradbury's company this morning and requested to see the suspects profile" I said as chief lit a cigarette, "Josh Bradbury being?" he asked patiently, "the founder of the application used to contact the girls" I replied and took out a cigarette for myself.
"That is where we got an address" Brent continued, "we went to the location with the intent to interrogate the suspect" he added and sighed, "the door to the apartment was unlocked so we entered." he concluded as he ran a hand through his already messy hair, now realizing what a mess we actually made.
"Brent was searching the other rooms when I came upon the balcony" I muttered, "he jumped from the second floor and landed inside the swimming pool below it" my mind was racing as I tried to remember everything, "he pointed a finger gun towards me before running away" I added softly.
Chief Babinueax gave a heavy sigh, "what did you find in the apartment?" he asked, my eyes met his, "we found pictures" I said sadly, "pictures?" chief questioned confused, I gave a silent nod,
"He had pictures of all the girls we found" Brent said, "It was hidded between his bed and headboard" he added softly, I could hear the pain in his voice as he continued, "the ten girls we found" he started and cleared his throat, "they aren't the only ones" he added.
Chief looked intently at us as he continued smoking, "I should suspend you two for breaking an entery" he started, "but seeing as you found valuable evidence that could possibly solve this case I'll let you off with a warning" he added, both Brent and I nodded thankfully, "I know this case is important to you Alison" he said calmly, "but make sure to get a warrant next time".
