Chapter 3

I couldn’t comprehend why so many teenager girls had turned up. It went against all natural thought. Thousands of girls had turned out to see Justin sing, only two original songs and then just a heap of covers. It had only been a relatively short amount of time since he first recorded ‘One Time’. Not that he can claim that all this hormonal hysteria was because of him. It was simply because he had a clever song writer that knew exactly what to say to make females begin to cry with the amount of ‘feels’ they got.

That genius song writer being me.

However, at this exact point in time, I had been condensed to wandering aimlessly around the backstage area of the concert venue. I was that much more bored than usual that I had literally been reduced to exercise. I considered walking for long amounts of time exercise.

Normally I would’ve flown out of the country to eradicate this amount of disinterest. Gone to another continent and been bored there instead. It gave me new scenery and food to eat to try and cure my feelings of blankness. It was yet to prove effective though. However, I had been prohibited by my ‘legal guardian’ from flying out until tomorrow. Apparently I had to work extra security tonight seeing as more people turned up than expected.

In all honesty though, I couldn’t be bothered to. Therefore I was not going to. I didn’t have the energy to be more vigilant than usual and I certainly could not be expected to actually use my skills and take down anyone threatening the Canadian. Kenny can deal with it tonight.

As I walked I observed the people running past me, all avoiding eye contact and ignoring my existence. It was always pleasant when people acknowledged your wishes. Mind you, all of these people would be out of a job if they didn’t. I held more power than a typical 14 year old girl should.

I heard the sound of my phone’s ringtone in my pocket. I pulled it out and stared at the message that came up on my screen.

From: Scooter – Send Ryan backstage, we need him here in 10 minutes.

I didn’t bother to reply to the message. I simply turned on my heel and headed back towards Bieber’s dressing room. I saw Kenny standing outside. I gave him one straight look in the eye before he turned and left the hallway empty.

I stood outside the white door for a minute. A ritual of mine. I found that one overheard the most interesting conversations when stationed outside an unsuspecting person’s door. Some call it eavesdropping. I did too.

“Hey Ryan who’s that girl that’s always around? I swear she went to my school in Canada,” Justin asked.

“I don’t know who you’re talking about,” Ryan replied. Liar.

“Yeah, you’re telling the truth,”

“Look, don’t worry about it. We don’t talk her,”

“Why not? I’ve seen her at basically every event these past months. She’s always there and nobody wants to tell me why!”

“We just don’t talk to her Justin no one does. It’s her wishes. It’s best if you leave her alone. She’s… different,”

“Why? Why is she so different? Where are her parents any… wait is that her shoulder bag? Why is it in here?”

“Justin stop,”

“I wasn’t doing anything!”

“Yeah but you were thinking about it!”

“C’mon Ryan, I’m just curious,”

“Why are you so curious anyway? Do you like her or something?”

“No! I’m just curious is all… can you at least tell me her name?”

“Fine, it’s-“ I chose then to walk into the room.  Both Ryan and Justin’s heads snapped up at my entrance. Ryan and I made eye contact. His widened in fear. And they should have. One does not simply tell someone my name.

“Mr Good, Scooter requests you backstage,” I said, tone as bored as always. Inside I was slightly angry though.

“Right yes… sorry. Oh and I wasn’t going to tell him your name, you know if you thought you heard that. I wasn-“ He started rambling. Peasant.

“Your rambling is irrelevant Mr Good, I believe you have someone to be,” I said. He quickly vacated the area.

In the silence that followed, I walked over and grabbed my bag. No unnecessary snooping needed from Justin. But just as I turned to leave. It spoke. The male Canadian blob spoke.
