The bus ride was long, quiet, and boring. It seemed days, though it was only hours, before Naruto had finally reached his destination. By now, darkness had fell. The moon held high in the sky. A bright, full moon, as stars surrounded it.

Naruto hopped off the bus, and took a look at his surroundings. The streets were quiet, with not much traffic going around. Naruto held his bag tightly in his hand, as new faces surrounded him. He wasn't afraid, but he was feeling a little shy.

The crowd of new people made him forget something. He had forgotten to get his other bag off the bus. Naruto turned, but the bus was already on its way.

"Wait! I forgot my bag!" Naruto yelled, as he began to chase behind the bus. But the driver didn't hear him, and the bus sped up.

Naruto continued to chase it, until he finally realized it was no use, the bus was already gone. Naruto had ran a good bit down the street, and now, he didn't know where he was.

The streets were dark, other than the pole lights and the light from the moon. It was quiet, and not many people were out. Naruto didn't know where to go. He didn't even know the name of his hotel. Iruka had written down everything for Naruto, including the name of the hotel and the address, and wrapped it around his key, which Naruto left in his other bag.

Naruto sighed. By now, he was beginning to regret leaving the village. He didn't know anyone here, and didn't know where to go. He was all alone.

"What do I do?" Naruto mumbled. It seemed as if the streets had gotten darker. Naruto looked up, seeing the moon was now covered with heavy clouds.

There were no way Naruto could get ahold of anyone from the village. All he could do was catch the next bus, which it was untelling when the next bus would come by, and where it would even be going.

Naruto's stomach growled. He suddenly remembered, Iruka had given him some money, and luckily, Naruto had stuck it in his pocket.

At least, there was a little light on the situation, and all Naruto needed to do was find somewhere to get food, and somewhere safe to stay for the night.

Naruto's legs began to move. He wasn't sure where to go, so he just kept walking straight. Rain gently began to fall down from the dark skies, as a crack of thunder surrounded the town.

Naruto kept his head down, looking at his feet as he walked. He could already feel his hair getting wet from the rain as it began to pick up.

He didn't even realize he was starting to walk down an alley. He could hear laughter coming from ahead of him, though he tried to ignore it. He could hear three different laughters. One, of a raspy voice. A second, that was soft spoken. And a third, that was deep, and sounded like the guy had smoked too many cigarettes.

Naruto couldn't understand what they were saying. Once he was close enough, he finally looked up, hoping to pass the men without any problems. But that wasn't going to happen.

Naruto could smell alcohol in the air, and he assumed the three men were drinking.

"Hey, where'd you come from?" One of the men asked.

Naruto ignored it, and his heart began to beat faster in his chest. He wanted to turn around and go back, but he could see lights from behind the alley, which meant shops were nearby, and Naruto didn't know where else to go.

"Hey, I was talking to you!" The man said, his voice sounding angry this time.

"He must be new around here," Another man said, "Especially to be walking around at this time of night."

"I'm just trying to get over there." Naruto said. His voice was kind of low, because he was out numbered here, and he was hoping the men would just leave him alone already.

"He sure is awful cute." The first man said. Naruto swallowed hard. He realized these men were sick, and were up to no good.

Before Naruto could think, the three men were crowding him. One standing on his left side, the other on his right, and the last in front of him. Naruto tried to back up, but his back was greeted by a brick wall. He knew he was in trouble.

"I don't want to have to hurt anyone." Naruto said.

"Hurt us? There's one against three here, little man. You can't hurt us." One of the men whispered in Naruto's ear.

Naruto threw his fist, hitting the man in the middle in the side of his face. That was when everything broke loose. The other two men grabbed Naruto by his arms. Naruto tried hard to break loose from the grip, but the men were holding him down so tight.

"You're going to regret that." The man said, pulling his fist back, then throwing it at Naruto, hitting him in the cheek.

"You bastards! Let me go!" Naruto yelled, kicking his feet.

"Look at him squirm." One of the men chuckled.

Naruto could feel his blood boil as the three men laughed at him, and continued to treat him as if he were a punching bag. Naruto could taste blood in his mouth, he knew he was suffering from a busted lip.

What're they going to do to me? Naruto wondered. How am I going to get out of this mess? What if they kill me? If Iruka was here, he would've saved me. I shouldn't have left. I should've stayed in the village.

"What do you guys think you're doing?" A voice spoke from behind them.

The men continued to hold Naruto, but they still turned their heads to see another man standing behind them. Naruto looked, too, and seen a figure of a man, but it was too dark to see his features.

Naruto could make out he was tall, and skinny. He wasn't sure what exactly was happening. Was this boy going to help him? How could he take them all three down by himself?

"Who're you?" One of the men asked.

"Don't worry about who I am." The mysterious man spoke. His voice was soft, and somewhat quiet.

"What're you going to do?" The man, who was holding Naruto, asked. He left Naruto go, and Naruto fell onto the ground.

The men had their attention turned to the mysterious man now. Naruto wanted to sprint out of there, but his body seemed to be frozen.

"Are you sure you want to find out?" The mysterious man intrigued with a chuckle.

It seemed to anger the three men even more. Naruto could've swore he even heard one of them growl. They seemed to have enough already, and they all three ran toward the mysterious man.

Naruto watched the whole scene. The mysterious man avoided all their attacks, as if it were a breeze. Between avoiding their attacks, he attacked them.

Naruto gasped in surprised. This man was like a ninja, but Naruto hadn't heard of anyone leaving the village for a long time, and he still couldn't get a look at the mysterious man.

Who was this?

This mysterious man was incredible. He beat all three men, without getting a scratch on him, and the three drunken men were laying in a pile, groaning and cursing.

The man stepped closer to Naruto. Slow, gentle footsteps. Naruto closed his eyes, not sure if the man was going to hurt him, or let him go.

"Are you okay?" The mysterious man asked. He leaned down closer to Naruto, and Naruto opened his eyes, finally seeing his face.

The most beautiful face he had ever seen.
