Until We Met- Chapter One

Naruto decided it was time to go. He was ready to leave his village, and go out to the world. He didn't want to be a ninja, he wanted to just have a regular life. In the village, Naruto didn't feel like he belonged. He didn't have any friends, other than his teachers.

It was his own choice. He had thought long and hard about it for a while, and he decided he wanted to leave. He had been into the outside world before, it wasn't like he was an alien to it, and he believed it was where he was meant to be.

"I'm going to miss you, but don't worry, I'll be sure to come back and visit you." Naruto said, a frown upon his face.

Iruka smiled, a sad smile. "I'm going to miss you too, Naruto. I'll always be here when you come to visit."

Naruto smiled back, wrapping his arms around Iruka to give him a hug.

"I know, Iruka. You were my best friend."

"Well, Naruto, when you go out into the world, you're going to meet all kinds of people, and make new friends. You're eighteen years old, you're an adult now, so you can handle yourself. And who knows? Maybe you'll meet that lucky guy out there."

Naruto blushed, scratching the back of his head. "Don't tell anyone about that, Iruka."

Iruka chuckled, "I won't, Naruto. I swore it years ago."

Iruka was the only one that knew about Naruto's interest in men instead of women. Iruka was really the only one Naruto could talk so deeply to, and confess things to.

Iruka picked up the last bag off the floor, and helped Naruto put it on his back. He didn't want Naruto to miss the bus, the next one wouldn't be back around for a couple hours.

"I hate to see you go, but I suppose it's time." Iruka sighed. He fought to hold his tears back. It was like his own son was going away.

"I'll come back to visit when I can." Naruto said with a smile.

"Don't forget your hotel. I put your key inside your bag."

"I won't forget," Naruto said, "I better get going, don't want to miss the bus!"

"Take care of yourself, Naruto!" Iruka yelled, waving his hand, as Naruto was already running toward the bus stop, a bag on his back, and the other bag in his hand.

"I will!" Naruto yelled back, moving as fast as his legs would go.
