I laid in bed, listening to my parents argue just down the hall. They have been arguing a lot here lately. It is also my eighteenth birthday today, doubt they realized it. I just sighed and rolled over. Looking out my window as I do so.

"Delphi, pack your bags. We are leaving now," my father said, opening my door to shout at me and quickly leaving my room as he retreated to what I presume is the bedroom he shared with my mother.

I jumped up and started packing. I didn't want to argue with my father. Obviously something is happening, otherwise he wouldn't have looked so panicked. So, I did what I was told. I packed all the necessities as well as a few personal items.

I also got my kitten I had recently got from my father all packed up and made sure she was all comfortable. Once finished with packing I went downstairs to be met with my mother shouting at my father. I watched from a distance. Afraid to make any sound. The sight saddened me. It wasn't always like this.

My home life used to be happy and carefree. But this? This is agony screwed up tight in a bottle. This is not how my life should have been. I just don't understand anymore.

"You son of a bitch! You are leaving me? I knew I should have gave her up years ago! I knew!" my mother shouted at my father who is standing slightly slouched, tired from this chaos.

"Andrea! I am not leaving you my love. I am only taking Delphi to Dahlia, it is her eighteenth birthday. Time for the bloodline to take over. We agreed to this many years ago. Do you remember my love?" my father retorted, being so patient with my mother.

My mother paused and kind of quieted down. She raised her hand to her mouth in realization. She then started to sob. She starts apologizing to my father over and over again. My father just held his wife in his arms, comforting her the best he could.

Like I said, used to be a happy and carefree life. Until a rogue pack of werewolves came and kidnapped her. The doctors said she was so traumatized that her mind locked up almost every single memory and made her have short term memory loss. Not to mention I have a younger brother who is now part werewolf. He is only five.

My father is a kind and patient man. He treated my mother with such kindness. The adoration that shines in his eyes is what I always dreamt of for myself when I find the love of my life. When this incident happened with my mother he never disowned her. Day by day he helped her get better. He loved Daniel as if it were his very own son. And I really do admire that about my father.

"Delphi, let's go. Your grandma is anxious upon waiting for our arrival. Please tell your mother goodbye. You won't be seeing us until Christmas," my father spoke, drawing my attention to him and out of my head.

"Yes sir," I replied going over to my frantic looking mother.

The looks she gives me at times like this is heartbreaking. She was only kidnapped in the first place because of me. Because of my bloodline. They wanted to use me to their advantage. But, she wouldn't give me up. Luckily while the rogue pack was traveling at the time they crossed into the Moon Shadow Pack's territory and the alpha spared my mother's life. Smelling she was human. My mother was able to come home after being gone for about a year.

"Mom, I am sorry for all the trouble I caused. Please know that I love you no matter what happened to you. I know deep down you love me too," I said, as I loosely held my mother in a semi warm embrace.

"I know baby, I am sorry. I feel like an awful mother for how I have treated you," my mother replied, returning my hug.

"It's okay mama, this way it is better. Plus, I miss grandma Dahlia. Give Danny a big smooch, and tell him he is the big boy of the house now while I am gone, I love you both. But I must go now," I replied with a short sigh, I kiss my mother on the cheek and head out to the car where my father awaits for me.

I plug an earbud in and watch in the review mirror my childhood house disappear. My new home will be on the land of the Zimmerman Pack, which I was only ever there once. I was a child at the time. My mother had to travel to get some herb from grandmother. This pack is a good nine hour drive from my home.

I can't be flown because of my bloodline. I will literally be zapped by lightning out of the sky. So therefore, I have to travel by ground. My life has always been unusual. Humans and other supernatural beings for many years have lived among each other in peace. But that won't be for long. There is a war brewing. And I am the only one who can stop it.

"You know this is for the best angel?" my father spoke up, side glancing at me, while his main focus was on the road.

"I know daddy, but I can't help this feeling," I mumbled, and before I could hear his reply, I leaned my head against the window, stroked Midget's fur and past out. Dreaming of this large male wolf, with fur of midnight black. The tip of his right ear seemed to be dipped in a silver shimmering paint, giving this odd spot out of the contrast of the black.
