After my run in with Jaxon, I have been avoiding him the rest of the day. Because, the moment I run into him I will have to face confrontation. I really don't want to. So I lay on my bed, replaying the meeting in my mind. So I turned to my side, replaying my words in my mind.

"Mate? You cannot be serious right now! You know what? I am going to head back to my bedroom right now to finish unpacking. Do not follow me, if you follow me, you won't be too happy," I responded, then left the room, leaving no time for argumentation.

I can't believe this. All of this is just so frustrating! And it is all on my eighteenth birthday. Somedays I wish I was never born. With that thought in my mind I wiped a lone tear and got up to go get a glass of water from my kitchenette. But as I opened my bedroom door, there stood Jaxon, hand raised as he was about to knock on my door.

"What do you want Alpha Williams?" I questioned, my tone clipped and short.

"Please, just call me Jaxon. I am not my father. And, my wolf was beginning to get restless, so I wanted to see if you wanna go on a moonlight stroll among pack grounds?" Jaxon replied softly, his oceanic blue eyes pleading to my own emerald green eyes.

"Sure, I can't seem to sleep either. But please don't try anything. I can't take much more of any weird situations. After all, it is my eighteenth birthday today and it has been a shitty one at that," I replied softly, looking at my bare feet. "Just let me grab my flats and a jacket really quick."

"Yeah sure, and I didn't know it was your birthday. Happy birthday Delphi," Jaxon replied in a whisper.

"It isn't your fault, you just didn't know," I replied over my shoulder.

"Then tomorrow, let me make it up to you. Please?" Jaxon asked wholeheartedly.

"I mean, sure. I don't see the harm," I replied, returning to his side with a small smile gracing my lips.

When I heard that it was her birthday and that she already was so overwhelmed and her day didn't go so well, I felt bad. I know I had to do something. But what could I do? That is a question I will ask my sister. She may know what to do.

"Then tomorrow, let me make it up to you. Please?" I had responded to her sincerely.

"I mean, sure. I don't see the harm," She replied, returning to my side with a small smile gracing her lips.

After that we just walked in silence. I took her out back to my mother's rose garden. The garden was peaceful at night with the full moon shining brightly. I was so at peace, my life content with my little mate beside my side. Even though she constantly carried that fluffball kitten with her.

As we walked along in silence, I just enjoyed the time I can spend with my little mate. She gasped as we entered the main part of the garden, benches were scattered here and there. A magnificent fountain stood tall in the middle of the garden and the scent of the red roses engulfed us. My mate sighed softly, and took a seat on the nearest bench. I sat down gingerly next to her. She stroked the little kitten gently. The kitten purred softly.

"This is my mother's garden. It was built as a peace offering from my father. After all, he did attack her village and she was the only survivor. So to show he meant no harm for her, he built this garden as a safe escape for her when times got too rough," I spoke softly after waiting a moment in silence.

"Wait, what?" she spoke so quietly, if I weren't a werewolf I wouldn't have heard her.

"My father, when he was just a boy, nearby villagers had attacked his parents and managed to murder his parents. My father was only five at the time, he survived the attack, but his pack did not, so he ran away and rebuilt this pack he has today. The only reason they had beat his pack is because a band of hunters and two witches helped the humans out. So when my father was older and strong enough, he repaid them the same karma. Destroyed the entire village, just as his old beta was about to rip the head off of a women, he caught her scent. Killed his first beta, and saved her. My mother. She was only human then. Before I was born my mother got pregnant, she had a rough pregnancy which almost killed her. A witch that was a friend of my father's helped out. It was either turn her into a half werewolf or let her die. If she were to turn into a half werewolf she would lose the first child, if she didn't, the child would be born and she would die leaving my father mateless. They both agreed on for her to turn into a half werewolf. Then two years after that.... my mother gave birth to my sister and I. But yeah, she was so timid at first she didn't dare let my father near her. So he built her this place. The only person allowed here besides her is my sister and I. Even my father isn't allowed here unless he needs her for something important. Even then, he sends his beta after her," I spoke quietly, as I stared straight ahead.

"Wow, I didn't know," Delphi spoke gently.

"It's not his finest moment in time, but a werewolf can't stay sane without his mate. They are literally meant for you. They are a half of your soul. Without a mate. A werewolf goes insane and will eventually die. I always wanted a mate, always wanted to be loved. My sister found hers the moment she turned thirteen. I didn't, I was so mad at the moon goddess," I spoke, my fists clenching against my side.

Without speaking, Delphi moved closer to me. She gave me a hug. I tensed up at first, not expecting it, and eventually I relaxed and gingerly put my arms around her and hugged her back. We stayed like that for a while, just wrapped up in this warm embrace as the air got a bit chilly.
