Stubborn Omega Protective Alpha

Chapter 2

Maximus POV

He was perfect. His skin was the perfect shade of tan. Almost like he'd gone out in the sun a lot. His lips were a smooth pink, eyes a dark seafoam green. 

My heartbeat loudly as I stared at him, shocked by his sudden words.  A slow smile met his lips as he looked me up and down.

" Damn. And you're just my type too. Damn I lucked out this time didn't I?"
A blush crawled up onto my cheeks as I hear him.

Slowly a smile spreads onto my lips and I take a hesitant step forward. I didn't want to frighten him. I could tell his act of bravado was forced.

His smile wavered as I stepped closer.
" Gonna say anything? Like what your name is?"

I cleared my throat and nodded bowing low.

" My name's is Maximus Moore. Alpha King of the Western Pack. Please meet your sassy self."

Riley's POV

My jaw dropped as I heard his name.

" Holy shit"

My wolf had gone full omega. James was screaming at me to touch him.
I however was to shy to touch the most powerful alpha in the Continent.

I took a deep breath when I realized Maximus was inches from me. I blinked and without thinking I reached out a hand to touch his face.
The bristles on his cheek felt soft on my hand. James purred in content.

Realizing what I was doing I ripped my hand back to my side, a blush flushing my cheeks.

" I-im sorry...I w-wasn't thinking..."
I mumbled softly looking down.

As soon as my eyes reached the floor Maximus grabbed my hand and placed it against his cheek once more.
I snapped my head up and a shocked smile tool place on my lips

Maximus began to nuzzle my hand, pressing a daring kiss on my palm.
A low chuckle escaped my lips.

" It's ok for you to touch me" he whispered, his voice sending shivers through my body.

I licked my lips at his words wondering what exactly that meant, however, I nodded.
James purred softly at the contact his skin was making against mine.

We're safe here Riley. We have a home where we had none. Maximus will take care of us now. We don't have to fight anymore

James purred softly and I slumped with relief at his Comforting words.
"I sure hope your right, James...I feel safe here to..."

Maximus POV

Charlie was excited to be making any type of contact with Riley, as was I. His skin smelled of pine and smoked wood.
Snow-covered his body and I could feel his hard shiver.
Despite the heavy clothing he's wearing the omega was still cold.

I chuckled and pulled into my arms hoping he wouldn't mind.
He didn't fight it but he did gasp softly.

" Your name~?" I whispered softly into his ear.
I felt him shiver again but this time I knew it wasn't in cold, I smiled in gratification.

"Riley... Riley Zavoni~" he purred softly into my neck where he'd buried his face into the heat of my skin.
I could feel his body begin to relax in my arms.

" How about we get you somewhere warm. Huh, Riley~?"
I said softly and he nodded slowly.

Riley's POV

I was reluctant to leave Maximus arms but he pulled me to his side with an arm around my waist. It made me feel protected and safe as he walked me down a crowded hallway.

The stares were pricing and I had the strongest urge to snap at them. I however refrained as I didn't want to make a bad Impression on Maximus, leading to him rejecting me.

That however didn't last long. As we neared the corner a particular stare caught my attention.

"WHAT?!"  I snapped at her.

She was gorgeous, with blond hair plump lips on a curvy body she was a picture-perfect definition of gorgeous.

She growled right back at me baring her teeth at me.
Without thinking I pushed myself away from Maximus and bared my own teeth.
The anger and hostility radiating from these women were enough to put any omega on edge. Most omegas would cower away behind their caregiver. But not me.

I Crouch low imitating her stance matching her Force for fore.
An ugly growl ripped from my throat and I could see the hesitation flash in her eyes as the sound caught her ears.

"Stand down" I growled at the other omega. 

It was easier for omegas to fight their own gender. But it never really got into a full-on brawl when alphas were around. I myself had never been confronted by such a vicious omega before.

" Who are you ?!" She spat at me with a low growl.

Instead of answering I snapped at her neck locking onto it quickly.
A scream ripped through the hallway. Blood filled my nose as I let the omega go.

"Oh my- Riley lets go...that's enough" Maximus sounded almost amused, though there were undertones of awe in his voice.

I turned back towards him blood dripped from my face as the hallway filled with people once more.

" OH MY GOD-!! SOMEONE GET THE PACK WARRIORS! HE'S ATTACKED MELIkSA!!" someone yelled out.

Before the room could you up to panic a loud booming Alpha voice echo through the hall causing everyone to fall silent.

" CALM MY PEOPLE! HE IS MY OMEGA AND NO HARM SHALL COME TO HIM! HE IS NO HARM TO YOU OR ANYONE OF YOUR FAMILIES. MELISA THREATENED HIM."

The words sent a chill through my body I looked at him in awe. He was protecting me? Why?

Maximus POV

My words sent a wave of calm through the crowd. Everyone here knew about Millisa's violent disposition. So no
immediate panic was taken into the crowd. With my words booming through the hall called attention to my warriors.

They came rushing in. Melissa's brother comes in and sighed at the sight. He silently picks her up and takes her away without a word.

Turning back to Riley who was still crouched on the floor, I sighed.
I slowly reached a hand towards him, it took him a second to but he eventually took it.

" Let's get you cleaned up. Your filthy.." I spoke softly as I lifted him up.

Calmly I lead him away.

Away from the shocked crowd who was just beginning to depart.
The news they would have a Luna soon weighing heavy on their minds...
