Stumbling around a badly lit supermarket, gurgles and groans echoing about the place, he heard the voice of a peppy sounding girl, probably not dead. Making his way down the aisles, the undead boy tried to pick up the pace, shuffling faster and faster. Another girl of the zombie kind came across his path and with a few not really understandable grunts and mumbles, they decided to join together in the hunt for fresh human. Flash. They were now charging towards the human girl, well not charging, but walking pretty fast, growling with hunger. Flash. They both surrounded the girl who was caught at an unexpected time. Flash. The boy threw himself at the girl, jaws wide open, ready to rip into her flesh.
Then darkness.
And then..
And t h e n....
A scream.A S C R E A M.
Kieren woke up with a jolt, bedsheets dangling off the side of his bed, breathing heavily. Fuck it's always that same dream. That same backflash. He looked around his room, which was filled with paintings and photos, sweaters thrown about the place and a light scent of coffee, vintage and Simon (probably due to the fact of him wearing one of his shirts). Sitting up more, the male stretched, arms raised to the sky as a few bones clicked in a satisfying way, causing Kieren to let out a huff of pleasure. Getting up slowly, he shuffled over to the mirror, staring at his pale, almost lifeless looking self. Reaching out to the contacts and cover up mousse, he stopped himself and took a breath. Kieren reminded himself of Amy's upbeat take on PDS and not wearing any of the things herself. Smiling slightly, he then looked at a photo of himself, Amy and Simon, all grinning cheerfully. Brushing his thumb against Amy's face, Kieren mumbled, trying to hold back his tears, "Miss you, BDFF.." He then stumbled over to the wardrobe, a wafting smell of coffee overwhelming him. Since he is a sufferer of partially-deceased syndrome, the male couldn't actually drink coffee, but it was a comforting smell due to drinking it in his past life to make himself feel better. He kept on Simon's slightly baggy navy blue shirt, pulling on a Christmas themed sweater and some skinny jeans. He checked his phone to see a text from Simon, asking if he still wanted to go for a walk. Eagerly, the boy replied with a 'yes!! <3' and dashed downstairs,
He slipped on some muddy converse, pulling on his coat before yelling a farewell to his family, babbling an explanation of going to see Simon. Jem peeped from around the doorway, rolling her eyes and giving a quick smirk at her brother, "Tell Irish dead boy I said hi!" She cooed, sashaying towards Kieren to adjust his clothing, like a mother would do to their child when they go to prom. Ren nudged Jem, grinning, "Alright, alright, you're gonna make me late." He made his way to the door and opened it, turning around to give his sister a slight wave before swiftly leaving. Kieren trotted down the road, making his way to Simon's house. When he finally got there, the older male was sitting on the low wall that marked off the front garden, smiling as the deer-like boy came up to him. Simon got up, pulling Kieren into a tight hug. They hadn't seen eachother since the funeral of their best friend, which was nearly a month ago. Kieren slyly slid his hand down to Simon's, interlocking them tightly. Simon's pale cheeks turned into a very light pink as he smirked slightly, "So, where do you want to go?" They began to slowly walk as Kieren pondered for a few moments, before deciding, "How about...just up to the forest? The nice one with the meadow, not the dark weird forest...Brings back bad memories." He shuddered slightly, walking closer to his boyfriend. Simon let go of Ren's hand and draped his arm over his shoulder in a comforting manner. He kept looking ahead but he could feel Kieren shuffle even closer which brought a fuzzy, warm sensation in his chest. He placed a kiss on the slightly shorter boy's head, which caused him to do his wellknown, Bambi-like, clumsy, bounding walk. It made Simon chuckle as he was shoved away by a bashful Kieren. They only parted for a few seconds, quickly joining hands once again as they made theirselves up the public trail to the forest.
They got as far as the high-grass hills before Kieren just stopped by a cluster of lavender bushes. Simon turned to him, head tilting slightly, "Something wrong?" Ren let go of his hand and turned, staring at the village down below. He took a deep breath and smiled, "This shitty village doesn't look so shitty afterall..Well, I guess it isn't that shitty now. Since they've grown a tolerance to PSD sufferers and a lot of them have stopped calling us rotters. But I don't think it will ever be...not shitty. But you.." He looked at Simon, who had moved himself to stand beside Kieren, looking at him with a thoughtful, keen expression. Ren continued, "You..make it even less shitty..", he chuckled, "Amy did too..So..I'd like to say thanks. To Amy. And to you." They both had a small smile on their faces, embracing eachother. Simon looked into the boy's undead, white eyes, "Kieren Walker. I'm in love with you." Kieren then reached up slightly so their noses could touch, "Well Simon Monroe, I'm in love with you." They then had a few moments of silence, before Simon abruptly pulled Ren in, their lips locking. After a few seconds, they both pulled away, embracing once again. Kieren began to sway as they both stumbled about in a messy slowdance way, not daring to let go of eachother.
