The boys spent an hour messing around the hills like little kids, having the time of their lives. Then as they made their way back onto the road back into the center of the village, Kieren spotted something. A figure. Of a female in a dress and coat. Simon noticed it too when Ren stopped in his tracks, eyes wide. The figure let out a squeal and yelled, "SIMON! KIEREN!" She waved and began walking up the road towards them. In surprise and shock, Kieren stumbled backwards, "It can't be..She's..." Simon squinted at the girl getting closer and closer towards them, "Dead?" Kieren nodded and when they could see the girl poperly, the boys were both frozen in shock. It was her. The optimistic zombie girl. Her.
Amy.
She then began to run, hitching up her flowery dress slightly. Once she was at a reasonable distance, Amy threw herself at them, wrapping her arms around both of their shoulders. Simon greeted this embrace politely, laughing and patting her back, as if she had never died. But Kieren responded in a negative way. He stepped back, brow furrowing, "What..the..fuck. Amy?" The girl let go of Simon, flicking her wild hair, "Yes, it's me! Hello BDFF!" She hugged Kieren tightly, laughing. Ren pushed Amy away, shaking his head, "But..you're dead. No. Nonononono. NO. This is NOT happening. You're dead. You died. You died. This is not how it works," He was panting, almost barking at her, "When you die, you're dead...and you don't come back. We're not in the apocalypse anymore. Right?" Simon now brushed his fingers along Kieren's arm, "Hey now, deer boy..Maybe someone decidd to give her another chance?" The boy pulled away once again, "But that's not how it works, Simon! She had her second life..It's supposed to be impossible to have a third..I'm..I.." He stared at Amy, shaking, "I had been trying so hard to get over YOUR death. So I could MOVE ON. And do something with my life. But NO. YOU HAD TO COME BACK, DIDN'T YOU?" He was now reduced to tears, sobbing madly and darting off into the village when Simon and Amy reached for him to comfort the boy.
