Slayer and the Void

Chapter 12: Back to town

A/N: "Well we are nearing the end of this book, soon our guardian will be tested, but for now let's just rest and take a day off from fighting."

Ghost: "A/N, what's with the picture?"

A/N: "Oh that's something I found and thought it looked cool."

Ghost: "Oh, we'll then on to the chapter."

A/N: "Oh and a small P.S, sorry for yesterday, i accidentally posted this for a half-second so if you got a notification without a chapter then that's why."

Void's perspective

I woke up with a start, falling off the bed in the process.

Void: "Ow."

Rubbed me head and looked around seeing the cramped quarters of my ship and got up. Why did I fall out of bed you may ask? Nightmares. I've been having the same one sense we got back from Watertown. The largest horde of goblins I've ever seen, all the adventurers from town fighting them off. In the middle of the battlefield I'm fighting against a champion when it smashes me into a rock out in the field. It raises its club to crush me and at the last second I wake up.

Wiping the sweat from my brow I change into my armor with the helmet at my side and head into the house. Smelling breakfast I see the Farm girl at the stove, while Slayer without any of his armor on and her Uncle are seated at the table.

Farm girls uncle: "Morning Void."

Void: "Morning sir."

I took a seat next to him and he struck up a conversation.

Farm girls uncle: "So I heard that the hero defeated the demon lord. Monsters are bound to start calming down now."

Slayer: "They won't, at least the goblins won't."

Void: "Just because their lord is dead doesn't mean that they still won't be a problem. Another will only take his place."

Farm girl uncle: "You seem pretty sure about that."

Void: "I know from experience."

Farm girls uncle: "I guess you would."

Farm girl: "Breakfast is ready, took a bit longer then I thought it would but eat up." *She walked over and placed it on the table, then sat next to Slayer.*

Farm girl: "I have some deliveries to make after we get at breakfast."

Slayer: "I'll go too, I have to stop by the guild."

Farm girl: "Great, Void you want to come?"

Void: "Ya got nothing better to do."

Farm girls uncle: "Just stay out of trouble."

Void: "Please, what could possibly go wrong?"

He just grumbles and we all finish up breakfast before heading outside to load up the cart.

Farm girl's uncle: "So you are heading into town to find another quest?"

Slayer: "That too, but I need to have my suit of armor repaired and pick up my other set."

Farm girls uncle: "Alright then, just be safe, I don't want her getting hurt."

Void: "We'll do our best sir."

He helped us finish loading up before we left for town, the Farm girl pulling the cart again. After a little while we made it into town and uploaded the cargo.

Farm girl: "So you said you were going to see the guild today."

Slayer: "Ya."

Farm girl: "I've got an errand of my own I need to run after finishing these deliveries, so you two want to plan up meeting later and heading home together?"
