When I was little I idolized you,
I wanted to be just like you.
Strong
smart
collected.
You were always right,
always there for your family,
always helpful,
always strong.
But as I got older I realized that you weren't what I thought you were.
Controlling
conceited
rude.
You see, you had me fooled as a little kid.
But now I know the real you,
and I want to be nothing like it.
Thank you for teaching me what not to be.
