The Barrier

Hindi matigil ang mabilis at malakas na pagkabog ng dibdib ko. Why them of all the people?

Maraming tanong ang pumapasok sa isip ko that I would go crazy if I didn't find the answers. Bakit ba sila nahuli? Ano na ba ang nalalaman ng council sa kanila? At ano naman ang parusang ipapataw sa kanila?

I could burst into fragments the moment until I realized what I'm doing this for. I was here to resolve. This conquest is the answer to the world's problem and the mine. Our team aims to solve the disputes. Pero sa lagay ngayon, baka lumala pa ito.

Pinilit kong kumalma. I have to be careful. I reminded myself to not let my guard down in the presence of the biggest figures in this sector.

My eyes secretly wandered off to miss Lovete, Vice Principal. Alam kong alam niya ang iniisip ko at siguradong nag-aalala rin siya. Yet she managed a serious, calm face. Saglit na dumaplis ang tingin niya sa akin and I knew she's thinking the same.

Kahit mahirap sa kalooban ko, pinilit kong tumingin sa dalawa as if I've never seen them before, as if I do nit feel the fear they have.

Pinagmasdan ko silang dalawa na matamlay at nakakagapos. Binding their hands are special material to nullify their ability.

Fatigue has taken over their looks. Mahina sila kung tingnan at mukhang ilang araw na hindi nakapagpahinga. I searched for any bruise or wounds but luckily, none appeared.

I noticed the green and white uniform of Boran Academy which used to be fresh and polished the first time sir Wood handed it her, just like how mine is currently gleaming in cleanliness.

Natatandaan ko pa nang isukat iyon ni Julia sa harap ko. She jumped in glee dahil nagustuhan niya ang dielsenyo nito pati ang mga ornamento at logo na kaakibat nito. But now, their uniforms are faded with dirt and what used to be pearl white now appeared greasy and soiled.

I studied the color of their skin, the pattern of their hair, their movements and breathing-- all to estimate how they have been doing and how long has they been captured.

Sa tingin ko naman ay wala pang isang linggo matapos silang mahuli.

Maingat kong inalis ang bored kong tingin sa kanila. To everyone in the table, I'm just a girl watching two complete strangers walk around. I cautiosly reverted my gaze upon them before anyone would suspect me.

Mahinahong humudyat ang Headmaster sa mga Midnight guards at agad naman silang lumayo upang iwan sina Julia na nakaupo sa interrogation chair.

"I bet you have something to say, Imitia," Mariin at matatag ang pagkakasabi ng headmaster sa unang taong kanyang hinarap na si Imitia.

Instead of shaking in fear, nakangisi pa ito na parang ipinapamukhang siya'y nagwagi. Tiningnan niya ang headmaster na parang isang baliw. He was teasing him.

Headmaster Grimoire rose from his seat to face Imitia.

Nagpaikot-ikot ito sa kinalalagyan ng bihag namin na para bang nag-iisip ng gagawin dito.

"Did you miss me, Grimoire?" even heavily wounded, he still had the heart to mocked the Headmaster. From the looks of it, he was tortured a couple of times or maybe struggled when chased kaya ganyang ang inabot niya.

"Nais mo bang malaman ang ang paraan ng kaniyang pagmamakaawa sa harap ng dark queen? And how loud she was calling your name before she fell lifeless to the ground?" pagkatapos ay tumawa siya na para bang wala ng bukas.
