Moving day.
You've decided after a rough few years that you need to move on with your life and start something new, you come to the decision to move to London to start a new chapter as a photographer and filmography. You don't know anyone there and that's exactly what you need. Its always hard staring somewhere new but the last week before the move you spend as much time as you can with your best friend Nina, she doesn't want you to go since she moved next door you've seen her everyday and shes always protected you.
You pack the last of the boxes in your car and hug your mum tighter than you ever have before, her eyes water up and she whispers how proud she is and how much she will miss you when you go. You promise to face time her every night. Your brother pretends not to care that you're leaving and punches you in the arm "I've always wanted to be the only child" he tries to joke but you know him to well and grab him for a hug embarrassing him. Nina comes running out of the house towards you holding a black shoe box that she decorated with plenty of glitter and ribbon, you cant help but laugh to stop you from crying.
"You going to leave without saying goodbye to me"
"Don't be silly, I could never leave without saying goodbye. I'll miss you so much, who else is going to keep me updated every minute with all the celebrity gossip" you laugh again but your eyes start to tear up, its hard saying goodbye to someone who always keeps you positive."Well take this then, i made it for you so you don't forget me when your living it up in London with all your new model friends", she hands you the black box and inside is filled with pictures of you guys together and all her favourite celebrity articles. You take a picture out of the box, its from the day you first met when Nina came into your garden while you were taking some pictures and asked if she could model for you. Surrounded by flowers from the garden, she looked so beautiful.
You place the picture back in the box and put the box on the passenger seat of your car, before you can even turn back around properly Nina has already grabbed you wrapping both arms around your neck sobbing quietly into your ear.
"Don't cry, I'll come to visit you once i get settled in and you can come to visit me once i have my place sorted. I'm sure you'll text and phone me just as much as you do now anyway" you hug her a little tighter then let go and get into your car. As yu drive away you see your mum waving like a mad woman holding your brother in her other arm, everyone with tears in their eyes but you know this is what is best especially after what happened.
The Drive Down
The drive is long, 6 hours to be exact. You stop half way at a service station to grab a Starbucks (always the same order of peach green iced tea). while your stretching your legs you check your phone and already 4 messages from Nina:
Have you got there safe? x
I hope you're ok? x
I miss you already x
Are you there yet? x
You put your phone down and sit in the quiet for a moment, did you make the right choice? what if it doesn't work out? what if i don't get any work?
All these thoughts are rushing through your head and it becomes over whelming the air feels like its being sucked out of your lungs, your hands start to tingle like little pins stabbing into your finger tips. Your legs start to feel like jelly almost collapsing beneath you. You sit in your car holding your head in your hands to start taking in deep breaths. its feel like a lifetime for the oxygen to fill the car again and the pain in your chest to fade away. You take a deep breath and wipe the tears from your eyes.
You can do this!
The drive seems to go by so quickly, you listen to your playlist over and over again singing along to all the songs having a mini concert on the drive over.
6 hours later you finally arrive.
