Chapter 20: A Proposal!

          The team just got back to the BAU after a difficult case. They were all tired and exhausted. They all held their go bags and brought them to their desks, or offices. JJ sighed as she sat down in her office. She looked through the papers when she heard knocking. She looked up to see Emily walking in. "Hey." Emily greeted. "Hey yourself." JJ greeted. "Going home yet?" Emily asked. "No, I need to look at the requests and choose which one for us to do next." JJ replied. "How are things going with Daphne?" Emily asked. "Good, I suppose. Will and I are taking your suggestion." JJ replied. "It'll help, trust me." Emily told her and JJ nodded. "I do." JJ agreed. "Garcia and I were talking about a girls night soon." Emily told her. "Sounds like fun, we'll talk details tomorrow." JJ agreed. "Have a goodnight." Emily commented. "You too." JJ agreed and Emily walked out of her office.
       JJ got to her house really late. She unlocked the door and walked in. Her ponytail was swinging behind her. She walked into Michael's room, checking on her son's. Then she walked into Henry's room, checking on Daphne. They were all asleep, so she walked into her bedroom, and saw Will was asleep too. She changed into her pajama's and got into bed when Will opened his eyes. "Sorry, did I wake you?" JJ asked. "You're good." Will replied as he sat up. "How were the kids?" JJ asked. "Henry and Michael were the same as always. Daphne is distant and her nightmares are not getting any better, or any worst." Will replied. "Emily is sure that this method will help Daphne adjust. She went through the same thing when she first started taking care of Declan after the whole Doyle situation." JJ explained. "There's no science to something like that." Will commented. "It takes experience." JJ added and Will intertwined her hands with his. "We'll get through this. Together." Will told her and she smiled at him. "I know." JJ agreed. They both laid down and closed their eyes.
       The next morning, Savannah woke up and saw that Derek was not next to her in the bed. She sighed as she slowly stood up and walked into the kitchen. She got a glass of water and drank it all. She heard the door and walked into the living room and watched as Derek walked in. "Where were you so early?" Savannah asked. "I just had to make a quick errand." Derek replied. He put a bag of donuts on the table and Savannah grinned. "You know me so well." Savannah commented and Derek laughed. Savannah opened the bag and found a small black box. She slowly and carefully picked it up and opened it, revealing a diamond engagement ring, causing her to gasp. She turned around and locked eyes with Derek. "What is this?" Savannah asked. "An engagement ring." Derek replied. "Well, I can see that." Savannah told her. Derek walked up to her and put his hands on her waist. "I love you, Savannah, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?" Derek asked and Savannah slowly nodded her head with a smile. "Yes. Of course, yes." Savannah replied. They kissed passionately. Savannah pulled away and put the ring on. Then she wrapped her arms around his neck as they hugged.
        Penelope walked into the BAU and realized she was the first one there. She walked into her office and began typing on her computers. She came in early, to see if she can find some details on Daphne's biological father. Kevin walked in with Abigail and Penelope smiled. "What are you doing here so early?" Penelope asked. "To see why you're here so early." Kevin replied. He handed their daughter to her as she held Abbey in her arms. "Hi, my sweet little girl." Penelope greeted. "So, why are you here?" Kevin asked and Penelope sighed. "I'm using as much free time as I possibly can to track down an Unsub who fell off the grid.... He's dangerous and will come and attack sooner or later." Penelope replied and Kevin nodded. "Find anything?" Kevin asked and Penelope shook her head. "Not yet." Penelope replied with a frown. "You will, Penelope. You always do." Kevin told her and Penelope gave him a small smile. "Thanks." Penelope commented. She gasped when she found something on her computer. She handed Abbey to Kevin and examined what she found. "What is it?" Kevin asked. "I might have something." Penelope replied. "Good luck." Kevin commented and he left.
       The rest of the team got to the BAU and were in the round table room. Penelope joined them with a file in her hands. "I have something to say, before we get started." Derek told them. "We're listening." Aaron agreed. "Savannah and I got engaged this morning." Derek told them. "Oh my god! Congratulations!" Penelope exclaimed. "Congrats, Morgan." David commented. They all smiled at him and congratulated him. "Thank you." Derek commented with a grin. "I have news. Rather important news, that may or may not help us in our mission." Penelope commented. "Which is?" Aaron asked. "I have a hit on Daphne's biological father." Penelope replied and JJ straightened up. "And?" JJ asked. "It's a long shot, but someone used one of his known alias's to rent a car." Penelope replied. "Track the license plate and send it to us." Aaron told her. "Right away." Penelope agreed. She nodded and walked away. Aaron walked up to JJ. "Are you alright?" Aaron asked and JJ nodded. "Yes." JJ replied. "You sure?" Aaron asked. "We've all handled personal cases with extra passion.... I've got this Hotch." JJ replied and Aaron nodded. "This may not lead anywhere." Aaron told her and she sighed. "I know, but I hope it does. His profile says that he's going to go after Daphne eventually, and he's not going to kill her. Not right away, at least." JJ explained. "Then let's get going." Aaron commented and they left.
