"When anxiety turns into anger"

The wait for one call or a single message had turned Shashank's concern into rage.. It was 14 hours since she left and not a single word from her.. He was hurt.. he was frustrated.. he was in distress..
It was his deep concern towards her on one side that he was hurting so much and on the other side it was the fear of loosing her..Did he have the strength to let her go away from him... that very thought sent a spine chilling shiver run across his body.

Shashank was in one of his worst foul mood today.. One of the many reason for his foul mood was the major surgery scheduled that morning was supposed to be performed by both Shashank and Juhi.. Not that he couldn't perform the surgery single handedly but it was her absence which bothered him and pissed him off right now..

First thing Juhi did that morning was she visited the i-Store and picked up another iPhone.. She reset her new phone and first thing she did was dial Shashank's number.. His phone kept ringing .. there was no answer.. She called him again .. again there was no answer.. She decided to wait for his call and went back home.. The surgery that they both had to perform that morning had slipped out of her mind and little did she know that while she was trying to call him, he was busy performing the surgery along with filling up her absence in the OT..

Rahul was already back home from the hospital when Juhi got back home.. She briefly asked him about Pooja's condition and informed him that she would like to visit her in the evening and study her case file..
Juhi decided to take a shower since she had rushed to the store first thing in the morning.. A while later Juhi's phone rang.. Rahul who was sitting on the bed with his laptop noticed her phone ringing but didn't bother.. A while later the phone rang again.. Out of curiosity Rahul walked towards her phone and saw "Dr Shashank " calling flashing on her screen..
Presuming it was an emergency call he answered the call
Hello Juhi... Shashank spoke
Hello Dr Shashank, this is Rahul here..
Shashank was shocked.. Rahul answering her phone meant a lot of things right now...
Hello Rahul... Is Juhi around .. shashank asked
She is in the shower, Dr Shashank..
Is there anything important to be conveyed... he asked
No no nothing , Rahul..
It's just that I didn't hear from her since last evening.. Hope everything is fine.. shashank asked hesitantly ..
Everything is absolutely fine Doctor.. Nothing to worry.. Rahul sounded cheerful
Shall I ask her to call you back.. he said
No Rahul that's fine I'll call her back later when I'm free.. Thank you so much..Bye he said
Bye Dr Shashank.. and hung up the phone

Shashank gulped a glass of water at one shot.. Rahul sounded cheerful... does that mean they have sorted out everything between them .. Maybe that is the reason she didn't call him or send a text.. And Rahul answering her phone... their comfort level ... made his conviction even stronger... Did everything change overnight.... he thought
Tears welled up in his eyes.. Will "His" Juhi leave him just like that.....
The answer was known only to her..

Juhi walked into the room after shower .. Rahul was so engrossed with replying to emails that he forget to mention that Shashank had called on her phone..
A while later he shut his laptop and noticed Juhi sitting on the couch staring at the floor..
Juhi.. have you thought about what I said last night.. are you ready to give me a chance.. a second chance .. he asked
It isn't easy for me to make a decision overnight , Rahul
It's not whether you deserve a second chance or not but whether I want to give this relationship a second chance.. And I'm not sure if I'll be able to give you an answer for this... she said shutting her eyes tight
I' ll wait for your answer Juhi.. he said in a defeated tone and walked to the balcony

Juhi let out a deep breath.. She glanced at her phone but there was no new notification.. Maybe he was busy she thought and decided to take a short nap on the couch.. Physical and mental tiredness overtook her and she fell into deep slumber..
At about 5pm she woke up suddenly and was confused if it was day or night.. She checked the time on her phone and only then she realised she slept like a log for 5 hours.. .
There were still no new notifications on her phone..
Just then Rahul walked in and told her he is going to the hospital.. Juhi told him she would freshen up and join him in 15 minutes time..
