Himiko P.O.V

Winter break is the best. No school. No homework. No stress. And no...Kokichi.

Maybe I should call him. But what if he's busy. I don't want to bother him if he's busy. Ugh! Why do I even want to call him! I rub my thumb on my phone. Waiting for him to call me instead.

I'm bored anyways Mom's at the hospital. She wouldn't let me visit her. "You have to make the most of your break! Not stay with me all moppy." That's what she told me. I wanted to spend the most time with her though!

You know what! I'm calling him. I grab my phone and go to Kokichi's number. Or maybe he's busy. I shake my head. It's ok, right?

Kokichi picks it up right away. "Himiko?"

"Nyeeh! Kokichi! I missed your voice!" Nyeeh! I said that out loud. "I-I-I mean...I'm not...I don't-" He starts laughing. "I'm glad you called." Kokichi? His voice sounded like he's been crying.

"Have...you been...crying?" I ask.

"N-No!" I can hear him sniff. He was crying. "You know I think crying isn't a bad thing. I think it makes you stronger. It helps you move forward even if it's tough, even if there something blocking your way." I want to comfort Kokichi like he does to me.

"Hey. If you need someone I'm here." I'm not going to ask him what's wrong. I know it's hard for him to talk about his problems. I just want to help him up.

There's a pause then Kokichi asks, "How's your break?" I'm glad he didn't hang up.

We end up talking for a couple hours until it was dark. "How's your...mom?" Kokichi asks. Nyeeh. I didn't want to talk about. I can't drag people into my problems. But...I know I can trust Kokichi.

"She's in the hospital...again." I try to fight back tears. I should be used to it by now.

"Himiko...To bad this is a call huh?" Huh?

"Why?" I ask.

"Because I can't hug you." I blush. Idiot.

"Don't say stuff like that!" I hear Kokichi chuckle.

"At least your not sad. I know! Do you still have that teddy bear I got you?" I blush of course I do.

"Yea." I whisper.

"Go over to it and hug it. Pretend it's me." That idiot. I go over and get the bear. It's so soft. It starts calming me down.

"I'm guessing your holding it." I whisper yes. We both yawn.

I lay down on my bed still hugging the bear with my phone on the nightstand. "Your going to sleep?" Kokichi asked. Guess he heard me going on my bed.

"Nyeeh~ No. I'm just a bit tired."

"I'll hang up th-"

"No! I-I mean... It's nice knowing I'm not alone. C-could you not hang up?"

"Your so childish." He ends up staying on call.

We didn't hang up all throughout the night.
