Short Story - Smile! (Finished)

End

Finally, we made it to school. Adzuki got off of my back, turned to me and made a face. I looked at her with confusion.

"Come on, smile!" Adzuki sang. I stared at her and tried to push open the school doors, but they were locked.

"Wait, wasn't yesterday Friday?" I mumbled and Adzuki's eyes widen in horror.

"Uh oh, I must've..." Adzuki's voice trailed off. She turned to me and put her hands on my shoulders. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I know how you love to sleep, but I totally forgot it was Saturday, so please don't be mad!"

I twitched, and walked away, I couldn't help but smile and laugh. I was extremely tired yesterday, because of a basketball game. Adzuki almost never forgets anything but she forgot this!

"Stop laughing at me..." Adzuki frowned, I turned around and hugged her.

"Sorry." I said in a cheerful voice, "Hey, Adzuki?"

"Hm? Yeah?" she looked at me. Now's my chance I thought. I pointed to my mouth, and smiled and Adzuki gasped as I did so. "Y-You smiled!" she hugged my tightly, and laughed, "Thank gosh."

"Come on, let's go home." I murmured.

"Yeah." Adzuki jumped on my back, and we walked home as the sun began to set.
