Chapter Nine

The whole kingdom was silenced as she stood in front of the royalties- her father, her mother, and the ministers. Trembling in fear. Her eyes were puffy from crying too much.

Ever since the news broke out that the princess was seeing a Jeon. Some high authorities were not happy with it. They quickly decided to declare war but you stopped them saying you wanted to have a discussion. 

'Our people have given their life to save us from those Jeon and this is what we get. Your daughter being in love with a Jeon?? This is not what we expected.' 

This is what they all said. You felt ashamed. Not because you loved Jungkook or he was your mate but because you made your father head bow down in apology. He never did that before but here he was trying to apologies to those people on behalf of you. 

'Yunmi... Do you hear me?' 

'Yunmi? Please tell me you hear me love.' 

You heard Jungkook's soft voice loud and clear. However, You gripped onto your gown tightly to ignore his calling. For your father if you have to forget Jungkook your own mate- 

Maybe you will do that too. 

"Lady Chae?"

Suddenly you heard your father saying the name of the person who you wanted to see the most at this moment. 

"What brings you here, Lady Chae?" The old lady bowed to your father before looking at you as you also bowed down to her. Receiving a nod. 

"The winds have told me something your highness.. goddess of moon is not happy with what you are doing. She doesn't like the fact that all these people-"

She pointed to all the ministers and brothers of Hoseok sitting on their own thrones. 

"-are trying to seperate the couple." 

Some of the people standing in the crowd gasped as they heard the words. Everyone in the kingdom respected and trusted Lady Chae with all their heart. They know that whatever she does it is for the better of the Jung Kingdom. 

"I am not telling you to change your decision your highness. But at-least try not to change the decision of our goddess of moon. The mates are decided before birth you should know that better than me and no one can change that." 

Your heart was beating loudly. Your eyes looked at you father who was in deep thoughts. His hand rubbing his forehead as If he was conflicting with himself. 

"We made the peace treaty Lady Chae. They are not to enter our territory and we can't enter theirs. I know that there hasn't been any wars with the Jeon kingdom but that is because of that treaty and before that they were our enemy. And giving my daughter to them is not something which I have ever thought about.  But if that is what you say then I leave the decision in the minsters hand."

The whispers didn't stop. Lady Chae stared at those men with her cold gaze. Meanwhile all you could do was pray for them to agree. 

Just then you heard a cough. Indicating they have made their mind. 

"As per the decision that took place. We have decided that we can allow the princess to marry the Prince of Jeon. However, by doing this we would like to make another treaty with the Jeon Kingdom that by giving our precious princess to them we would have to combine the both kingdom that if  we ever need their  resources to fight- they would have to grant them to us and vica-versa."
