Cynthia's pov-
"mamiiiii please don't make us leave" I said holding on tight to my moms leg, begging her at this point
" yes! please don't leave" kairi comes running down the stairs yelling and hugs my moms other leg as well.
" Mi amor i wish we didn't have to move too but my job transferred me to florida, there is no other choice mijita" My mom continued to say.
Kairi and I let go of my moms legs in disappointment. I really didn't want to leave my best friend behind at all. I've been bestfriends with kairi since we were born. Im gonna miss him SOOOO MUCH. Me and kairi go up to my room and pack the last of my toys. I get a chair and get my favorite stuffed bear that had white glittery fur with a bright sparkly blue tutu from my top shelf, and go over to him.
" here" I said with a small smile on my face.
" what do you mean?" He said as he stood up, with a confused look on his face.
" I want you to keep Mr. cuddlesworth" I said holding it for him to grab.
"but your going to need him for you first day to school over in florida" He said which left me with a sad depressing face.
" wait here!" Kairi said as he ran downstairs, then outside. After about 2 mins he come back running up the stairs with his favorite stuff dog.
" i'll trade u tho" He said with a slight grind on his face, as i smiled back.
"okay!" I said with excitement.We swapped toys and he both went in for a tight hug.
"Mija! come on we're leaving!" My mom yelled from the bottom of the stairs.
I looked down with sad expression on my face, kairi saw and grabbed my hand. I looked up at him seeing him with a frown. I go in for another hug and he hugs me back tightly. I didn't want to let go, he was my first bestfriend i don't know what i will do without him.
"it's going to be okay" He whisperers. " I'll call u everyday!"
"pinky promise?!" I said with more of a joyful face, holding out my pinky.
"promise!" He said wrapping his pinky around mine.

He never kept his promise. We facetime for the first couple of weeks when i moved out here, but after school started it's like he forgot about me.
I'm currently on the plane on my way back to new jersey since my mom got transferred back! At this point I haven't spoke to kairi in over 10 years, and his mom is coming to pick me and my mom up from the airport. Kairi's mom and my mom have known each other since high school, and have been best friends ever since. When our moms found out that they were both pregnant at the same time they hoped that they both will end up having boys, and can have the kinda of friendship they had when they were little. Once they found out I was going to be a girl they were still happy, but then they thought there 2 kids wouldn't be as closed as they hoped, but they were completely wrong. From the earliest memory I can process Kairi was there. So it was so hard to leave back then. My mom would tell me so many stories about when we lived in new jersey. She told me how kairi was my first kiss when i was 6. She even told me a story on how one time I broke my arm before halloween, so i wasn't able to go out for halloween, and she said that kairi went out tricker treating early and ran around the neighborhood like crazy getting a bunch of candy then came to my house and we sat in my room playing and eating candy. We were so tight when we were young but for some reason i feel like everything changed.
