Graduation had come and gone. Winter passed with straight As while Qrow scraped by on Cs and a few Bs thanks to Winter, just as they expected.
The two remained together. Sneaking in through windows and hiding in cars became common. They still told no one. The risk was too high to let anyone know. Glynda didn't know. Weiss and Whitley didn't know. Nobody did, except for the two of them.
Winter planned to go to the army after the summer. She would savor the time she had with Qrow before leaving, then somehow pry herself from his arms.
***
Winter rolled over in her bed to the sound of her phone buzzing over her night stand.
"What the hell?" She whispered to herself, sitting up and checking her phone. A worrisome sight stared back at her.
6 missed calls from Qrow💗💗
"Shit." She mumbled. Being around Qrow so much made her develop a quite heavy potty mouth. Winter quickly swiped through her phone to call him back.
"Hey Winter..." A slured, tired voice answered.
"Hey, what's up? Is something wrong?" Winter moved her legs off of her bed, knowing that she would have to leave.
"I'm... I need help..." His voice mixed with the sound of loud music and people shouting.
"Where are you?" Winter questioned, growing suspicious.
"Junior's." He mumbled back.
"Stay where you are. I'll be there soon." She replied, then hanging up without waiting for an answer.
Winter put on clothes and a light jacket as she grabbed her car keys and tip-toeing through the house to get to her car. She quickly set her GPS and sped off, not wasting a second. The closer she got to him, the worse the area seemed. Sketchy people, broken glass, torn up houses. Winter had never been to this side of town before. It is not a place that her father would want her to be.
Winter pulled up to the curb, triple checking that she was at the right place. A small nightclub with old neon lighting illuminating the name. Junior's.
The smalls suspicion she had tried to bury came crawling back up.
A place like this is only for one type of person.
She shook her head, trying to stay optimistic.
Winter took a deep breath and stepped inside. The smell of liquor and sweat rushed at her. She shook it off and ran up to the bar, getting the attention of one of the bartenders.
"Hey. Have you seen my boyfriend? Black hair. Red eyes. Deep voice." She shouted over the music blasting throughout the small building.
The bartender rolled his eyes and pointed behind her, at the men's bathroom.
"Thank you." Winter turned around and ran to the bathroom, dodging a few drunk people on her way there. She busted through the door, shouting his name.
"Qrow?" Her voice echoed throughout the bathroom.
She heard a groan from one of the stalls and rushed for it, opening the door to Qrow, slumped over the toilet bowl, and covered in sweat and liquor. Her suspicions were true. Winter folded her brow, fuming.
"What the hell!" Winter barked, leaning down to his level. Qrow sat up, only making small noises.
"You've been drinking." She stood back up.
"Winter, wait. I'm sorry." Qrow managed to speak.
"Your sorry? Look at you. You can't even stand up!" Winter yelled, hurt.
