Chapter 5

That's when one of the boys called 911. The ambulance arrived 10 minutes later. By this time my mom had came out of Walmart and saw what was happening. She said we can go to the hospital.
We waited in the waiting room for hours. I can tell my mom was getting impatient. I told her she can go home. She said okay and she'll bring me some clothes and breakfast in the morning. The doctor came a little after my mom left. "Family for August Alsina?" the doctor asked. By this time his mom came. I found out that the two boys are his brothers. We all stood up. "Well, I'm Doctor Ronald. I have good and bad news. Good news is he's alive. Bad news is he's in a coma," stated Doctor Ronald.
"What? My babyy. Are you sure doctor?" cried Sheila, August's mama. She was really upset. Mel and Travis were patting her back. I just put my head down. I couldn't even cry. I barely knew August but I had feelings for him in a weird way.
"I'm sorry ma'am but im positive. I looked at his records & insurance and I noticed that August doesnt have insurance. Life support can't support him for long unless we get some funds about $10,000," responded Doctor Ronald.
"I'll get the money mama. Don't worry about it. I got it!" exclaimed Mel as he stormed out of the waiting room. The mood in the room was very tense. Mama Sheila was crying very hard on Travis shoulder. That's when she looked up and noticed me. "Um. Who are you?" she asked. I got nervous. I didnt know what to say. August's friend? August's student? "Well, I'm August's student," I responded.
