look at the stars, look how they shine for you

"blythe, you're going to get me in so much trouble!" you exclaimed, trying to be angry but the only thing that could escape your lips were quiet giggles.

his fingers laced into yours, squeezing your hand tighter as you were dragged under the moonlight.

"i'll just say i kidnapped you, no big deal," he joked.

you rolled your eyes even though he couldn't see. "not funny."

suddenly gilbert stopped, and your eyes scanned the field where he had taken you. you furrowed your eyebrows before your eyes met his.

"lay down," he spoke.

"seriously?" you questioned. you motioned down to your light pink nightgown.

"come on, y/n, you know you can just buy twenty more of the same one," he replied.

you sighed, slowly lowering yourself to the ground and he followed. your head softly lay on the grass, the crisp midnight air filling your lungs. the sound of crickets persisted in the distance.

"nice, isn't it?" he said, breaking the nature's silence. "look at the stars."

you listened, your eyes trailing up to the endless sky above you. it was a clear night, every star visible to make up the galaxy on the rock of planet earth that you're on.

"do you ever think about the world that lies beyond our own?" you spoke softly. you breathed the fresh air in and out, soothed by the calm.

his head turned to look at you (YOUR SIDE PROFILE IS PERFECT IDC), intrigued by the curiosity that you presented to him.

"well...of course. what lies beyond this is simply universe, nothing more," he stated.

"you don't think there's any chance of possible life?" you replied.

"sounds kinda crazy to me. but if the smartest girl i know believes it then maybe i should too."

you raised your eyebrows. "i'm the smartest girl you know? what about anne?"

he chuckled. "anne is smart, yes. but you...you're different. you're stubborn but you know your limits. your curiosity makes me question things that i've never thought about before. you're the best listener i know. and the best secret keeper too."

you blushed, thankful that it was hidden by the darkness. "whatever, blythe," you shrugged, nudging your elbow into him a little.

"i'm serious, y/n."

you sat up on your elbow, tugging at the curls in his hair. "why are we here anyway?"

a chuckle once again. "no reason."

his fingers trailed up and down your arm, sending goosebumps all over your body. touching him felt electric. you moved your own fingers from his hair down to his cheek.

he sat up. eye contact again. his kind eyes stared at you deeply. he moved closer to you. you could feel the warmth of his body radiating.

your heart thumped and you could hear it in your ears. the breeze blew your hair slightly. he traced his hand up your arm...up to your shoulder, your neck, your chin, your cheek. you sighed in satisfaction.

why does his touch feel so good...

he tilted your chin up and you saw his face close to yours. so close you wanted to jump on him, break the tension and just kiss. you could feel his warm breathing against your skin.

"can i?" he questioned, his eyes studying your face.

your hands wrapped around the back of his neck, slamming your lips onto his right away. he was surprised, but immediately found himself melting into the contact.

"Y/N!!!" you heard your mother's voice calling from a distance.

"Y/N!!" another voice. one of the townspeople.

you pulled away from gilbert immediately. people noticed you were gone.
