America sighed, setting his last bag down. He knew that we would have to but later. The striped country looked around his new room, he would have to share it with Australia. Australia had always had too many creepy pets. Just yesterday, Aussie had taken a spider from the ground and took it as a pet. He would never understand him. A shout from downstairs tore him out of his thoughts. "C-coming!" America called as he turned and ran out of the door, he quickly went downstairs. "First off, stop running in the house." He heard his father's stern voice muttered. "Second off, take the cat outside." Britain flicked his gaze at the fluffy figure waiting at the door. America rolled his eyes. "He has a name!" He walked over to the white and black Siamese. After grabbing the harness and the leash they had for him, he quickly out then on the tom-cat. The striped country opened the door and walked out the Siamese following. He had had Checkers for two years, yes, they named the cat Checkers. The harsh winter wind made him shiver. "Of course I forgot my coat!" He thought to himself, continuing forward with the cat though. A small smile appeared when Checkers brushed against him. America quickened his pace, knowing Checkers would keep pace. He quickly made a u-turn wanting to get back inside. The cat had gotten enough fresh air to satisfy him for a while.
•The Next Morning •
America shot awake, panting and sweating. He looked around to make sure he was in his own house. The striped country sighed in relief as he sat up from the mattress he had fallen asleep on, checking his phone. He stood up and ran to his bags and pulled out an outfit. A black hoodie and some white jeans would do for now. He quickly pulled them on, checking the time again. "7:49?!" He panicked. His new school started at 8:00. America ran downstairs, greeted by France. He waved at his mother before grabbing his backpack and heading out the door. He knew not eating breakfast would take a toll on him but he couldn't care less.
Just as he reached the building he could hear the bell ring.
"Why me?"
